For a Comparison between the OEM bulbs and Sylvania SilverStar headlights. I wanted a bit more light, but I don't feel the need to spend the $$ on a HID conversion. I was curious to see if the SilverStar would be that much brighter. I figured I would share my results.

    Fact, The lights are brighter.

Opinion, If you have to change over wait until one burns out (always change headlight bulbs in pairs) its not worth removing working OEM bulbs. My excuse was to had the OEM's in the glove box for backup's. I hate loosing a bulb on the road. Second, I don't think they are work the additional $. If anything expect 5% more light at just about twice the cost.

I like mine, I did both the headlights and the fogs, much much brighter and a truer white light than the OEM lights.

Really? I think the right side of the road is move viable over the distance, esp. with the amount of the curb you can see on the right.

I know, I just like mine, I think they are a large improvement over the OEM when both the healights and fogs are both done.

Yea, I had Silverstars in my Accord and they wouldn't last more than a year. I switched to Wagner Britelites. They cost half as much and were still in the car when I traded it in on my Tacoma. They were about 2 years old at the time.

They do look whiter but changing the bulbs in the Tacoma can be a pain.
Never did it but that's what I believe I've read.:)

Looking at the pics again reminded me of something that I am embarrassed to admit.

I am still rolling around with two different headlights HA

Yeah they did not make it easy to change for anyone with large hands. I ha dto have my son finish connecting the right light, I just could not get it. My wifes Corolla is worse, they cut the wires so short it is nearly impossible. Oh well nothing like a challenge.

I may go this route when these give out. When I bought them there was a $20 rebate so it really brought the cost down so if they go out quickly, no big deal. If I get in a jam I still have the OEM lights as well.

I got SilverStars for my Scion when it needed bulb. I like the color and they do throw a bit more light- but I'm not sure that I'll buy them again. Prolly get HIDS next time around....=)

Silverstars seem to be made in different countries. The ones made in Germany (in my experience) have lasted a long time. Never had one burn out. The ones made in Thiland, Japan, or USA, seem to have a short life span.

The PTA of changing them is the first reason I still am only driving on one.

Oh no... I didn't mention I bought these as a quick grab while walking through wal-mart, guess I know where mine would have come from.

You guys are kidding right? The bulbs are incredibly easy to change. It's a 2 minute job.
