thats sucks... and not to be an ass, they (HD, lowe's) have little red flags you can hang off your lumber, so you don't need to look like a hack. anything thing bright would work it just needs to be 16x16 I believe also my believe is that a wood supply store will/should give you a flag for any lumber, or thats just New Hampshire. Good luck :) and go after them, I'd be pissed if that was the "PRO" loader of HD. Be glad you didn't get a rookie loader!

i got the backrack safety rack
    to avoid this very catastrophy
if you haul lumber or materials often
    its a good investment
    altogether about $200
it bolts right to the rails-no drilling
and i hook the ratchet straps to the cage and crank away
    no stress on rail
the hd guys always wanna help me load ply and sheetrock
    no way jose
ill take my chances with hernia or strain back
    over a busted window
    that blows

I wish someone would break my rear slider so I could get a solid one.

Sour luck man, guess the definition of "professional" has really changed, or maybe he only has to be part because he's just a "PRO"

Try putting 16 foot boards in the bed of a 5 or 6 foot bed and see how far down the road you get... I slide them into the cab all of the time.
