    All the 6.5" kit is, is the same 4" spindles, with a crappy 2.5" top plate spacer included.

    Spindles + spacer is not going to ride good, and if you do any offroading, you'll prolly break something

    It will ride just like stock because the spacers are top plate spacers. But the break something part is 100% correct.

    What are the reasons for failure with spacers? Does it put stress on parts that would otherwise not have stress?

    Yes, it allows the suspension to droop more than it was designed to do, causing ball joint binding.

    Kinda crazy that companies would still sell this as an option for lifting a truck. I PM'd maxtracbob to see what he has to say.

    He's going to tell you that if you don't offroad it won't be a big deal. Thats what all the companies that sell top plate spacers say.
