selfmade new tie down points (not only for motorcycles)

i use two aluminum plates (5mm thick) with 2 holes in every plate for each side.
just two holes in the bed(each side).
the plate under the bed has to be a little smaller.
use self locking nuts under the bed.
thats it !!!

and in the back you just have to remove the tail lights and just drill a hole.
use a big (in german : unterlegscheiibe) wearing part (english??)


the german word is : ringschraube does it mean ringbolt in english ?

 

You should use larger plate washers on the underside. A simple nut could potentially crack the bed or pull through if torqued enough. Otherwise, great idea!

 

He says that he used another steel plate, only a bit smaller, under the bed.

I think he means he made a steel plate sandwich, with the bed material in the middle.

Essentially the same thing. Technically what you have pictured is an eye bolt. A ringbolt is an eye bolt with a ring through the 'eye'

ive been lookin for the best way
to install more tie down points on the floor of the bed
but this will be way more accessible
when ive got a big load

this mod is quick and easy.
you dont have to remove anything.
all can be made through the wheel case.
try to get an eye bolt with a long thread.
and for the ones in the back use large plate washers.
the best option is to use stainless steel !!

Good One. I might look into this. The D rings I placed under the bed bolts are sometimes in a bad spot depending on what I am hauling and this location would be nice.
