I saw some conflicting things when I searched so I figured I'd post. I am considering buying these wheels off craigslist, but the guy is 1hr away and I'd rather know they fit before driving up there.

I know they fit on 1st gen 6 luggers because they are on the tacoma featured on Trucks! on spike. My truck is a '12 dclb sr5 if it matters

So this may be just an elaborate way of asking if 1st gen and 2nd gen tacos can interchange wheels? Anyways, thanks for any help. I would be buying them to paint or get powdercoated black.

    pardon my noobness

thanks for this, i'll ask him to measure. He claims they are 16" in his post.
If they are actually 16", is it safe to say they would fit both 1st gen and 2nd gen tacomas?

    those are 15's.

make sure he's measuring to where the bead sits, not the outside rim of the wheel.

If they are in fact 16"s then they should fit, There a different stye but I have 2002 16" 4runner wheels on my 09 Tacoma and they fit fine

If he was able to send you a pic of the tire mounted on the rim with the 16 in plain sight then yeah I would think they would work.

    No guarantees though.

I don't think a measuring tape will help unless he knows where exactly to measure, because 2nd gen trd 17's measure over 18 from edge to edge, but i would trust what it says on the back of the wheel

I'm positive that those are the 15" 4Runner SR5 wheels from 98-00. They will not fit on your 2012. DO NOT BUY! Unless you feel like making them into a coffee table

True, I didn't realize that. However, I've heard that some 16"s won't fit on the 2nd gen's. Better to be safe than sorry

thanks for furthering the confusion everybody :D

The seller may be willing to drive to where I am so we can do a fit. If i figure out the answer to this question I will update.

Still trying to figure out if it is a guarantee that a wheel that fits a 6 lug 1st gen tacoma will also fit a 6 lug 2nd gen tacoma?

i'm pretty sure it will fit, only if it's a 16'' but i have not had experience like jbbmccul said about some 16's not fitting, so please take that into consideration.

Almost all 6 lug Toyota wheels will fit on almost any 6 lug Toyota. I can take my 17" Sport rims and put them on a 1995 Tacoma, however, on the 2nd gen Tacomas a 16" rim is the smallest you can go due to the size of your brakes. All 17" Rims and up will fit however I have heard reports of some 16" rims not fitting on 2nd gen's.
