Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
    1: I don't wear panties.
2: I'm not "shitting up" his thread. I was merely looking for more info as to why I should sign a petition, as others were. For the most part, there is a very civil discussion going on in this thread in which opinions have been shared. No one said he wasn't entitled to his opinion, regardless of the "terrorist" comment.
3: As far as the BST threads are concerned, if you don't like the price then PM the OP. It is ultimately the buyer's responsibility to research the price.

I tend to do that. I like throwing that in thought bc most people dont see that government entitlement is the single biggest problem in this country. Whether it is welfare, unemployment, food stamps, etc...

^^^This is where you lose me.

No where in the For Sale rules does it say I have to do this via PM. Why should I hide the fact that they are trying to exploit TW members and do it via PM?

Hell no, I call them out and provide links for the same parts/better trucks than theirs that have started higher and still sold for less money. I am trying to help the average buyer that may not know what an item should cost.

Seller's have a responsiblity just as much as buyers do.

Not every over priced item is an attempt to exploit someone and it is the buyers job to cut a deal that suits them.
But you have been told to keep it to PMs. You might be trying to help buyers out but lots of folks do the same thing you do in order to sell their own items...So we don't let anyone at all.

I have done all the hi-pro mods for a life time, since I got this truck at a great price, I will be happy with showroom new.
First of all I want to settle a few arguments here. And before you respond to what I have to say, ask yourself, have you ever been to the outer banks, and if so when was your first visit? I am a old fart, my first trip was in 1970 and my grandfather started going out there for long weekends in 1956. He would bring back coolers full of fish and there would be a neighborhood fish fry.
First of all it was created by a act of congress as a National Recreational Seashore. Recreational being the key word here. The people who lived in the small towns along the banks released any claims they had to the land with the promise as it was mandated from congress to "free and open access for all to enjoy the seashore." This was done to protect portions of the coastline from being built up and blocked off, like some of the beaches in New England, and Florida, so poor to low income people and their families could drive out and camp out, and enjoy the beach. Now understand this, this area like others in the country was devastated by the Great Depression and with some of the gov. work programs they thought they were doing the right thing by doing what the Dutch did and build big dune/dikes to protect the infant highway 12, and stabilize the beach. but the gov. created a base for the fishing and tourist dollars to start coming.
And the people out there depend on it, esp. the spring and fall fishing, which many record fish have been caught. And with the stroke of a pen a judge has taken most of it away. That land was set aside for every person in this country to enjoy it. That is what Roosevelt wanted. Now the Core Banks is a national park, I think they are longer than the outer banks but it is set aside.
One more thing for everyone to think about. North Carolina has never built a road from the Va. state line to Kitty Hawk along or near the beach. I always heard that it was to limit or to prevent all the growth from Virgina Beach and its traffic coming south. No offense to our brothers in the Commonwealth of Virginia (you have to understand Virginia is not a state its a commonwealth) got this from a State Trooper!
And at one time alot of the land was private, around Duck and Corolla there was nothing there, and the big thing up around Currituck was the old hunting and fishing club, and the road used to stop at Southern Shores. The road went private and you had to go past a guard station to go north. And the Sierra club was left a track of land that plugged all growth because it was from sound to shore, now in the early 80's i believe they deemed that track of land to small to really protect, and sold it before the state could buy it or stop them. And while the state will not run the road all the way north, people started building home all along the beach and the only way they have access is to drive on the beach!!
TO ME ITS FUNNY THAT WHEN ITS TIME TO SAVE SOME TURTLES, OR HELP THE BIRDS THE FIRST THING THE GOV. DOES IS STOP BEACH ACCESS FOR THE COMMON MAN. ARE THE OUTER BANKS THE ONLY PLACE WHERE THEY LAY THEIR EGGS? NO. ARE THEY MAKING THE OWNERS OF THE BIG BEACH TOWERS IN FLORIDA, AND MYRTLE BEACH, TO TURN OFF YOUR LIGHTS SO YOU WONT DISTURB THE TURTLES. NO. ARE THEY TELLING PEOPLE YOU CANT GO OUT ON MIAMI BEACH AND YOU CANNOT LEAVE FOOTPRINTS ON THE BEACH BECAUSE OF THE TURTLES. NO. THERE WAS A MAJOR STINK RAISED LAST YEAR BECAUSE SOME DUMB PUNK RAN OVER AND KILLED A SEA TURTLE. THE FINE ALONE IS 150,000 PER TURTLE, NOW HOW MANY TURTLES DIED IN THE GULF???
Now I love the environment. I grew up watching the Indian on tv cry looking at pollution. Hell we here out there on summer in the middle 70s and my mom snagged one by accident and we got it on shore got the hook out of the shell and the turtle turned herself around and went back in, after we took some pics..
And I do believe guys, there were just too many people out there on the weekends, the last two trips I made out there I was surprised at all the beach traffic, I just did not realize how popular ORV had become. And there again, when I was young up until the early 90s it was a drive from charlotte to nags head. That could take a full day, and then the state got on the ball and rebuilt highway 64 and the bridges to Nags Head and hell you could get out there in 5-6 hours.
A balance could be reached. More and more in life I don't understand why people cannot find a balance to solve our problems. There is a site called Oregon Inlet Idiots, and I cannot believe the stupid things people do, I mean is sad when someone tries to bring a Greyhound bus on the beach, and the locals would be fine with a balance approach, but its been taken away with no regards as to what it will do to them.
And one more thing, I am tired of reading the crap about repairs on highway 12
When the gov. stops rebuilding homes and farms in the midwest from tornadoes and floods, earthquakes out west, houses in florida from hurricanes, then we can talk.

i guess I see it differently.

If you were actually gonna buy something, then PM the seller and negotiate a better price or move on.

If you're just posting because you think you know better, then yeah. Stay out of it. What I want to sell something for is none of your business unless you want to buy it-it's a transaction between two private parties and you're not the price police.

This thread is different. It's a matter for all citizens to participate in and that's different. I may not agree with the OP's "sign it because" philosophy but I am thankful he brought it to my attention and that I now know more about the issue and can make an informed decision.

I found this an enjoyable read as I too am 1) an old fart and 2) was a frequent visitor of the OBX and Belhaven, NC in the 70s and early 80s.

Still not clear what side you fall on, though.

I couldn't tell either...seems he's against closed beaches but according to the info someone posted a few pages back, access for ORV isn't closed, but limited.

you aren't confused...You know the rule. Where ever you are sourcing your prices-PM the seller. I could go on about why but we have before and it hasn't convinced you yet...so I'll leave it at "Send a PM instead of posting it"
