I've got a 4' Firestik on a spring

 

cool, thanks just wondering what good height is, cause i want it sticking out high, but not too high

 

I normally don't leave it on, but I have about 2' sticking above the cab.

I went with the 4' because it is have the length of the radio wave, for the best results you need a 102 whip

 

please excuse the ignorance, but "length of radio wave" does that mean not all cb antennas are not universal? and 102" whip, is that cause the longer the better reception?

 

they are all universal

I used self tapping metal screws when I mounted it

I went with a Firestik, because they are made in USA

 

I am going w/ a 3 or 4 foot firestik b/c of their reputation and because they are made in the USA!!!

 

I talked to K9 at citrus and he had absolutely no problem with reception when using a 2' firestik, thats why i ended up with a 2' firestik as well.

 

I need to get a cb...

 

I picked mine up at the walmart in Orange City for $30. Works pretty nice, just couldnt keep my antenna on my truck at citrus, the trees kept knocking it off. Thats why i went with a firestik now.
