Anyone have a good picture of what the 'spindle' is? I tried searching and it was a little tough to visualize.

That looks like a PITA to replace. What's the estimated cost for a new one/recommendations on stock/aftermarket.

No clue what new ones go for but once you get them you can all the all pro gussets for $50 plus welding costs.

do you have a 4x4 or Prerunner?

I'm assuming 4x4, the only one available is the stock one. There have been a few aftermarket ones made but they are extremely expensive. Most people get gussets to strengthen the stockers.

You could swap them out yourself.

Replacing the spindle wouldn't be a fun job and would take a press also. It could be done in less than a day though as long as you have a shop lined up to press in your bearings. If you replace the spindle, I'd swap the wheel bearings also.

It's not that bad to change . When I did my wheel bearing I would of just had to undo the upper / lower ball joints and it would of came off

Rob, I can get a used steering rack for you for $185. I don't see any spindals available but looks like they are around $370 from Toyota. The ones that Eric had in the pick also have the aftermarket gussets welded in so yours will look a little different.
