I have a Mexico built truck and I'm fine with that. Mexican's are hard working people.

I can tell you now if I give some 25 year old white college grad a $100 to clean up my lawn, kill the weeds, rake leaves, mow and pick up the dog shit, it wouldn't happen. If they had a job or not there is no way in hell I could get this all done for $100.

Give my mexican guy $100 and he provides his own beer, it gets done in about 2 hours and looks flawless every time.

'11 TRD Sport DC/LB 4WD: Made in Mexico

    Here is my opinion:

Many US workers have a horrible work ethic with low morale and little-to-no incentive to stay with their employer. Combine that with disappearing pensions, reduced benefits, revised union agreements that rarely end in favor of the employee, increased cost of living, increased taxes, and overpopulation. This can ultimately lead to a lack of motivation, and the end result is a sub-par product made by a lazy-ass who really doesn't give a shit.

Then we look at Hispanic immigrants who come to the US to work, and achieve their dreams. For most of them, that's exactly what they do; they work their asses off, and do the job well in half the time usually. Even if their some of their living situations in the US are considered deplorable or "ghetto" in the eyes of many "Americans" whose skewed outlook is merely dictated by commercialism and media conglomerates, they are living like kings and queens. And they don't take it for granted...they are grateful.

Then take a look at Mexico, even Baja. I'm sure the workers at that plant are paid extremely well and with excellent benefits when compared to the surrounding populace and general demographic. There would be a HUGE incentive to deliver a product that exceeds the status quo every time. Why risk losing a "dream job" just to do the bare minimum or lower your standard of quality. I am pretty damn confident that, even with the reduced amount of robotics, machines, and automation, the plant in Mexico produces the highest quality Tacomas available.

In summation, I think the American "machismo" of our impeccable country is the weakest part of our already failing system. Many of the posts in this thread, in my opinion, are a thinly veiled attempt to show pride in a US product, while insinuating that the Mexican built counterpart is inferior. Indirect racism and ignorance at it's finest. Built in the USA.

Wonder how long the foreign auto/truck shops will take to recognize the mexican tacos and add "Mexican" to the "Japanese" and "German" in their title?

You may be right, but stop acting like a self righteous prick and dogging those that actually take pride in country. Oh and mine's built in Mexico, and I couldn't give two shits where it was built because it's a Tacoma.

There may be some truth to that. What's the old joke, "I give 100% to my job. 10% on Monday, 20% on Tuesday, 45% on Wednesday, 15% on Thursday, and 10% on Friday.

I'm surprised 37% are built in Mexico. That's a pretty hefty percentage.
