    Hello,

    I'm new to this site and the Tacoma world, so if my question is stupid just let me know. Firstly, why do you have to use fiberglass and bondo on the grill? Can't you just purchase the grillcraft unit on their site and install it since it's made specifically for Tacomas? Also, where did you get the little TOYOTA emblem that is on the bottom part of the new grill?

    Welcome!
    The grill is called a "Satoshi" Grill. It is different from the grillcraft where this is deep mounted and the grillcraft is flush mounted to the front. When you cut out the center bars you'll leave gaping holes if you want to do the deep mount. This is just so you get the general idea. Look up "Satoshi Grill" on here and you'll find plenty of information of how to make one so you get a better idea of the difference.

    See drunkensloth's answer for the satoshi. It's mounted a good 2-3 inches back from the front of the grill, where the cross bars used to be. And you don't HAVE to use fiberglass, some folks plastic weld it instead.

    I got the Toyota logo off ebay. It's from an old celica.

    My HIDs started going all haywire the last week or so. The left headlight doesn't ignite anymore, and when I switch the high beams on, the right one goes on, but then when i turn the high beams off, the high beam stays on. Only way to get it to switch back is to turn the lights completely off.

    I've decided I'm done with them. I'm tired of worrying that I'm blinding people also. Going back to halogens. I have the stock bulbs back in now. Ordered some Philips xtreme halogens on Amazon today.

    Yeah I've heard bad things about the silverstars life span. The philips supposedly last longer, that's why I got them. I've heard good things about the narvas as well.
