Up in the air over two tires, help me decide!

i like the toyos better, but they are also alot heavier. i would go toyo if you got the money

 

The KM2's got better ratings that then Toyo's did in 4Wheeler if that means anything to you.

 

A lot of people here are gonna say km2s. If I were u I'd read reviews on multiple sources. Not just this site. And choose. I was between km2s and cooper discoverer. Went cooper your to stuff i read. No off road or hunting yet but good in rain and quiet on road.

 

I would go BFG. I don't see any advantages of the toyo. I just see a heavier more expensive tire.

 

Seen the ratings, know the tires. Money not the option. Just want to know IF you could buy either. Which one would you?

 

Old school BFG's...Or Hankook MT's like mine. They got 1st in the 4wheeler MT shootout if that means anything to you

Unless the poster has tried both tires, their opinion doesn't count for much.

My not-worth-much experience: KM2s are very good tires. Long tread life, very streetable, still aggressive enough to hang with any other MT you can drive on the road when the road ends, better than just about everything out there on the rocks. Mine have held up very well to very harsh abuse.

Overall, they've done everything I could've asked of them, and I'll be sticking with them for my next set when this current batch is dead.

They don't seem to like snow much, but what tire aside from the Blizzak does? That's what chains are for.

 

Ha I meant I went cooper after what i read. But if these are your options, bfg only because I had the at's on my old runner and they lasted and proved their name to me.

Just got the tires mounted to my wheels tonight and next winter I will be able to give a good comparison to the Duratracs......
Ill be sipeing them this week as weather,time, and patience permit

I chose KM2's because I know a ton of people locally who run them and the sizes they offer. Pricing was also a big factor. I'm not paying $500 more for Toyo because I don't see any logical reason to do so.

 

Not trying to get this thread off topic (I know it will), but why don't more people run Mickey Thompson M/T's? They seem to be a pretty good tire.

 

Noisy, not good for road conditions.. GREAT off road.

 

I have the toyos on my truck now. I will be getting the KM2s when my toyos are bald...


I would go with the KM2's because the toyos suck on wet roads.

I have siped toyo mt's on my truck now (you can see the siping on my build page pictures), I havent had an issue with them in the water, snow, dry, dirt, rocky, or any other kind of road. My only complaint, and this goes with any MT, i dont like the freeway noise. This will deter me from buying another set of mt's again, which is fine, i only bought them because of how angry they looked anyways. The 4-5 camping trips i take in the summer dont justify mt's. Anywho, just my 2cents.
