Would flip-out angle enough in 1st gen?

Just like the title says, I just got an 02 taco & first thing is get rid of the stock head unit. I'll go with a regular head unit but I found a used Alpine flip-out and was wondering if it could angle enough to be used properly with enough "vision range" (idk what word im looking for).

 

Buying used electronics is pretty sketchy imo unless you know the guy very well and know that it isn't busted. We probably have enough room to have the screen tilt back which is what I think you're trying to do.

thanks, i'll go for new instead cause I agree used is kinda sketchy. The tilt back is what I was asking but I'll just stick to a regular head-unit.

No problem, what's your budget? There are double din head units that have a tilting screen built in so you'd be able to move it however you like.

 

I was trying to keep it around $100 but I can do around $140.

 

Well a really good head unit for that price would be the Kenwood KDCX395. It is a very good head unit that allows for a lot of expandability and crutchfield has it at 119.00 with instal gear free.

thank you again, that was the unit I have been looking at. It was either a Kenwood or a JVC.

 

Go Kenwood then JVC has really gone down hill in the last few years and I've had that same Kenwood head unit in 2 trucks playing music just about everyday for 5 years and it still sound great.

 

good deal, i'll put in the order today. I've heard good things about kenwood products but never used them.

The unit I had in my last car was a Pioneer and worked pretty good until I started using the ipod input. Other then that it was a good unit.
