Yeah pretty much reliability. Every nissan that I've owned has been a bag of crap. My 350z was the only decently built car.

From what I've read, the Nissan IFS is weaker than their competitors. I would think it would apply to the frontier but I read this about an Xterra, a Pathfinder, and the Armada. I think it is the same for the Frontier. This only applies if y'all plan on doing heavier off roading and modding though.
There is also more on the aftermarket for the Tacoma and Toyota in general.
Don't get me wrong, I like the frontier, just not enough to buy one for myself :p

I bought a "NEW" 2011 Taco D/C SR5 4X4 2/11/2012. As you can see I am used to driving cars that don't roll from side to side when turning the steering wheel fast from left to right. I test drove ALL the smaller trucks and the only one that passed my tests were the Tacoma's.

Oh, I saw a video of a Frontier with a jet airliner with a broken front landing gear let the plane put its wheel in its bed to save the plane from crashing. Neat video, but I do not know if it was real. :D

Hahaha definitely not real. Tacomas really do drive the best. Coming from lowered vehicles, I really still enjoy driving this truck.

Too much to list, but enough to get me in trouble. Repeatedly.
    ......Uhhh..........what...?...?...?.....

You're thinking Mazda. All Mazda trucks and SUVs are rebranded Fords. Nissan makes their own vehicles.

Also, Mitsubishi and Mopar do a lot of cross-platform sharing. Most Mopar engines that aren't V8s are Mitsubishi. At least, this used to be the case -- I'm not sure if this holds true currently.

    Really? SMH

Edit: A girl would want to drive a truck because trucks are awesome. Also a double cab provides space for me to take 4 friends plus I still have the bed where people who ask questions like this get to ride.

I aint gonna hate on the Fronty's, they are great trucks and I strongly considered getting one instead of my Taco. Before my Taco, I had a '92 Pathfinder SE-V6 that died at 160K, then a 2000 Xterra SE that I traded in for a 2003 Xterra SC. I got rid of the '03 Xterra because I was tired of the 14 mpg highway with the SC. I loved all three of those Nissan vehicles, but I switched to Taco because Nissan customer service and dealerships were the worst ever, and the Nissans all had mechanical problems way too early in their lifetimes.

I haven't looked back since I've had my Taco. I wouldn't trade it for a Frontier in a million years.

Huh? I'm not so sure about that. The last I heard Nissan was controlled by Renault.

My old workmate regrets buying a Nissan, he saw my TRD...he wished he went the other way...his is already falling apart.

Leather and sunroofs, well, yes, Nissan offers that and Toyota doesn't.

    Re: Leather: Oh well.

Re: Sunroofs: Buy a fucking car if you want a sunroof.

Re: Metal Bed: Yay for rust and extra weight with no durability benefit.

Re: Track System: You may have noticed we have one as well. I do prefer Nissan's design.

Yeah, a Toyota badge and the associated reliability. I shopped Frontiers. Let's just be clear: Nissan is not Toyota.

Aaaaaand this guy beat me to the point. The Frontier is not a bad truck. But Toyota still has better engineering.

I wonder that myself. The composite bed is an excellent design innovation that was long fucking overdue. I'm hoping I don't have to go back to a metal bed at any point. I think people are just stupid and think because it feels like plastic it is plastic.

I guess we can't do that because of our composite bed. :pout:

The bed would probably hold up. It's our rear leafs that would fail. LOL

Nissan makes good trucks no doubt about it, but Toyota makes the best midsize truck. /Thread
