    I you're gonna be one...be a Big Red One! :)

I commanded the division's direct support intelligence battalion for 2 years - deployed it to Bosnia in '96 - '97 and it was the last tactical unit I served in before I retired at the end of 2003. Spent my last years in the National War College and the Pentagon.

    Good Morning folks.

 "6" ... on your success with the hitch. Installing it by yourself must have been a bit of a balancing act at times; kudos to you. Sounds like a nice hitch with the wiring plug mount plate and all.

:) Susan, hope you're getting lots of quality family time! ;)

 George, glad you found us...I'm not officially qualified for the thread, but I like to sit on the edge of the porch and listen. Lot of wisdom to be picked up if I keep my ears open.

:( Zach, prayers for the young folks involved in the accident...sounds pretty serious. Please update us when you can.

Hope this finds you all doing well!

    Good morning all.

    Welcome George.

Glad to see the hitch is installed Mark. I like the idea of being able to carry longer pieces of lumber safely. I am looking for a good deal on a stock hitch.

    Zach  for your friends.

Speaking of hitches, I'm going out to the barn in a little while to do some welding on one...tongue extension on a trailer and install a new ball receiver.

    '6', I like your call sign. "Devious"...fits intel :)

That's the fixed radio call sign for the commander of the 101st MI battalion - the unit I commanded in 1ID.

13 years artillery, blown out knee and ears so I transferred to intel for the last 13 years. :)

    afternoon all: hey there george!

unfortunate thing with the car accident.

:smash: made a post on tinboats.net, on my boat build. thought one of the posts was at the wrong place, so I was going to delete it, and repost it at the right place. ended up deleating everything I'd done for 1 hr. 45 min.
had to recoupe after that. took 4 aspirin and went and got a cup of coffee. came back home and reposted the same thing all over again.
thank goodness I don't drink-I'd have lots of reasons to!!

Great picture...thanks. That large bolt, the one in the center top? On my frame rail there's a large square hole there, not a round one. It's a little larger than the bolt diameter. Any problem with the bolt drifting or do the big washers snug it up enough?

And...good morning everybody. We have sunshine today!

If I remember correctly, the plate wraps around and is slotted into that hole on the back side...No problems with any of it moving/loosening...I checked the bolts/nuts when I took the picture (and I check them along with my brake linings every Spring/Fall when I changeover my tires). I'll try to get a pic from the backside in a few days (at least by next break).
