That's part of the reason the NHL is struggling. That was a cheap shot and the fines/suspension needs to be made much more harsh or it's going to keep happening and keep fucking with the image. They're at a similar point the NFL is at, it's not good for the league if the stars keep getting knocked out with concussions from cheap shots.

Just like diving in soccer, or going to the head in the NFL, cheap shots are hurting the NHL's overall appeal and image.
