Tacoma Spacers

Just ordered some spacers, anyone have experience installing them?

 

Return them......they ride like shit and will potentially f up your brand new truck. Get some 5100's if you want a cheap lift!

 

I really don't want a lift - just got very small spacers to level out the truck.

 

research goes a long way man.... but if u are sold on spacers... they arent fun to insstall

 

How big? Not a "leveling kit" right?

 

It's not arrogant....its called fact! I've had them and they suck! The kind you have are the worst too BTW! They "may" ride like factory at first but give it time. If you use your truck for what it was intended for.....you'll soon realize spacers are a mistake!

There's no controversy.......to each there own! He doesn't know how good it could be!

 

Eventually I plan to get a real lift but that's a few years down the road for now the spacers will be fine I think.

 

they will be fine, they just arent the best lift.

where at in az are you? and which type of spacers are they? do they go on top of the shock? or above the coil?

for a cheap lift they really arent bad. but it also depends how you drive your truck, if you drive like me you would have a fucked front end by now, but if you drive like a normal human being you should be fine

The way I look at it at least he is wanting to mod his truck. If that's what he wants, so be it. There are a lot of trucks out there running spacers with no problems. Maybe he's not the type to get out and wheel like hell. If he wants to venture offroad and take it easy then that is his choice. Not everyone has the money to go with a full blown lift and wants to go all out off road. His truck isn't going to implode and as long as he treats the truck like it should be with that lift nothing will most likely happen. OP, Glad to see you working on your truck and getting it looking sharp. Ignore the hardcore guys that want to crawl all over the rocks and wheel the shit out of their trucks. Your truck is yours, do with it as you please. Maybe you will want to go with a full suspension system later, maybe not. As long as your truck is the way you want it, that's all that matters.

Thanks for all the heated debate. To tell you the truth I used to have an Xterra with spacers and really didnt have any issuses. I do go off roading a lot, but I don't romp my truck. I take it slow and easy, and I have no desire to "rock crawl". So, for now, I think the spacers will be fine. Once I wear down the tires I have to the point where I need new ones I will buy a real lift and bigger tires. But till then, this small leveling kit should work out just fine.
