ARB & 34" - Cut into tires

Hey guys-

I have an ARB front bumper on my 07 Taco. I just put on 34" tires on my 3" OME. I hit some nice sized dirt holes which pushed the tires into the bumper on the inside, slicing into the tires themselves all the way down to the metal in the casing. Needless to say, I have 2 brand new Cooper Discoverer STT's that are trash.

Before I replace them, who here has information on how to cut the ARB front bumper to get things to fit with bigger tires?

Something like this? I also cut mine like this because it matched up better with the bushwacker fender flares I have. My tires were rubbing on the ARB too before I cut it.

 

Exactly. It sucks I had to go through 2 brand new tires to figure this out. What did it take to cut that?

 

Ya that's what I was afraid of. That really sucks they were brand new too. I had another member on here cut it when I was picking up my shocks. He just used a dremel but try to get a tough blade cuz the ARB has some pretty intense metal haha

 

lol... that happened to me with my coopers. It cut huge chunks of lugs off.

 

I was thinking of cutting mine back. do you have pics of the inside of the bumper?

 

Looks like I'm headed to get a dremel and some heavy duty blades.

Ya your the one I got the idea from while I was looking at your build haha Nice truck!

 

Did y'all have any issues with the powdercoating chipping where it was cut?
I only rub when loaded down while going over a bump and while the steering is cranked all the way. But it is still annoying. Have thought about trimming, but hesitant about chipping.

such a small area that is exposed afterwards, i just used some satin black paint and sprayed the area...can't tel the different between the satin and the powdercoat...only one who will know the difference is you

 

Gotcha,
Dremel and a stack of cutoff wheels await.

 

With my 35's and glass fenders I had to take close to 6" off

 

Ideas for what to do with these 2 Cooper's now that driving on them will probably cause a blowout?

Nah, you can tell these were chopped into.

 

Figure worse they can say is no. And if they do say no ask them to hook you up on the new pair.

 

Mine were so out of balance after they were cut i had to take it off.
I was missing 50 cent piece size of lugs half way around.
