I've got what I believe is a set of American racing outlaw series 2 15x10 6 lug rims spotted in my local Internet classifieds. They're about 50 miles away and they need some buffig done, but that doesn't bother me. I wont mind doing it. My major question is, since they were on a Chevy, does anyone have an idea of what backspacing they might be? The going price is 150$ for the set. DEAL, or NO DEAL? And would I have any trouble painting them black?

chevy have smaller hub bore so it's not even going to fit your tacoma unless its one of those one size fit all type of wheels with a large big hub opening. show us some pics, but it would be best to ask the seller if they know the specs.

Ok Here they are. As you can see they need cleaned up a bit, but NBD. I think I've heard of yota guys fitting chevy rims on their trucks, but maybe not.

Personally I'd pass on them. Too much work involved and if they couldn't even do something as simple as just take care of the finish no telling what else those rims have been through.

Well being that i'm strapped for cash at the moment I am willing to put some work into them to and clean them up, as long as they aren't bent or have chunks missing. They're aluminum, so rust shouldn't be an issue. Plus, i'll be looking at them first and I wont have to buy them on the spot. My biggest concern is making sure they will fit ok and the backspacing will be alright. I do want some that will give me a little wider stance, but I can also get spacers if necessary.

Depending on what size tires you have right now, that 10" wheel is going to need a pretty wide tire. If you're on a budget, new tires is going to hurt. I would just pass on them and wait for another deal to come by.

It looks like its one of those wheels with a 108-110mm hub bore opening, but the only way to confirm is to measure. Our tacoma is 106mm.

Measure the backspacing when you look at them. Just put the wheel flat on its face, lay a straight edge across the back of the wheel, and use a tape measure to find the distance from the mounting surface to your straight edge.

As for the bore size, you can measure that too and compare it to your truck.

If they fit and can be cleaned up, it sounds like a good deal to me

aluminum... and I may just ditch this deal since I found a set of black eaton steelies with yokohama geolander 33x12.50's mounted already for 400$. I thought that sounded like a good deal too, but more money...I just got done putting up three ads with stuff to sell and raise money.

you think they would be ok to paint black once I get them cleaned up? As of now my decision is, get the ones abover for 150$ without tires, or i can scrape up some money for these:
    400$ with the tires. and they're 15x8's

well i've decided to buy the eagle alloys, outlaws, or whatever they are, clean them up good, and paint them. I need a good project anyway. Then they'll sit until I find a good deal on some 33x12.50's. I'm hopin they'll look good and not stick out too much as well as clear my calipers. I'll have to drive 40 miles for them and so i'll do a test fit to make sure they're the right deal.
