I could give a fuck about who wins races. What matters to me it's what's fun and durable and frankly AE doesn't hold a candle to Hpi in that department. Dude said he wants a durable truck that can take a big jump without breaking, good luck doing that with a AE rc.

No, you need to read what he said. He want to show his buddies what for, ON A TRACK, not some empty lot, or cul de sac.

are you referring to me? lol

I'm the furthest thing from a big time racer. I just like taking my truck to the track and beating everyone there with something i built. It's all backyard racing.

I really dont mind when people dont like Traxxas lol I know they arent race winners but I like mine. And thats really all that matter imo.

If I ever do get into racing I'll start out with my slash and then get something better.

I am loving the new HPI 1/8th scale trucks and buggies. I also love the traxxas e-revo and summit.

Different strokes for different folks lol.

It's true a volt is a volt regardless. But it's in the delivery. For racing purposes a lipo is just hands down better because of that delivery. My old r/c cars as a kid like everyone else would have great acceleration but then after a few minutes performance would noticeably diminish until the car would, exponentially (for lack of a better word, been up since 4) lose charge. Lipos delivery is just better managed. So, for racing purposes it's a no brainer. I wouldn't say faster, some of those 6 or 7 cell nimh I have seen in my buddies slash haul the mail. But not for long;)

He also said something DURABLE. This debate can go on forever. You can make a Tyco a number one champion of you throw enough money into it . If he's serious about racing then yes he should get a AE cause that's all they're good for. But it sounds to me like he wants something that can perform well at the track and be able to take a hit without folding like tin can.

My losi xxx-sct meets that criteria and then some. Have had some crashes I thought were going to be really bad. Nothing has broken on that thing yet.

Finally, breath of fresh air. We always called that "knocking off the top" of a ni-cad or ni-mh packs. I've got some old GP3300 ni-mh packs that will smoke my best 2s li-pos, for around a minute, then, well you know.
