Crazy story but this guy came over to my house because we had a yard sale a few weeks back and he remembered I had some RC car parts. He just bought a used one for his kid and needed a gas tank. Turns out in the pile of junk parts I had an entire rolling chassis of the one he just bought. He asked how much for the tank and I told him dont worry about you can just have the entire chassis, its useless to me.

Now to how this ties into fab. The guy is looking at my truck after I give him the RC car and he says "by the way I just installed a JD2 tube bender at my house if you ever need to use it". Talk about a score and exactly what I need. He has 1 1/2" through 2" dies and lives in the same neighborhood. Needless to say I am stoked and will have a lot more to do soon :D

    Hey guys got a question...

How difficult is it to weld on bump stop cans? Saw a mount kit on poly performance to gusset them onto frame...

I got a little Lincoln mig welder, haven't welded in some years...maybe Ill get some scrap to practice on...

function over beauty people ! who gives a fuck what they look like as long as they work. im so tired of hearing about everyone judging welds based strictly on how the surface of them look.

as far as flux core, the shit burns hot, penetrates well, but a gas set up is really what you want. the spatter and slag inclusions that accompany flux core is the real reason behind why you dont want to use them, not that it doesnt look pretty.
