I don't have this issue but this question has arose from that thread where a cat was sneaking around behind a dudes back sleeping with his wife and leaving a whisker on the toilet.

If you are/have been/ or are hypothetically married/in a relationship and your wife/husband/girlfriend/boyfriend cheats (another person, cat, etc.). Do you forgive or kick them to the curb?

I for one have a zero tolerance policy ;)

i have been forgiven and i have forgave. it all is working out so far, so as long as you can handle knowing it happened as a person then go for it. (certain circumstances)

I have never been in the situation, but I believe it is tough to forgive (and forget - the difficult part) The key word is trust. Trust can be earned, but it takes time.
I have friends who divorced (He slept with the babysitter), they were seperated for about 2 years and then realized that they were meant for each other. She forgave him (she had a role in the split also because she did not give him the attention that he needed etc..not an excuse to sleep around, but contributing to it)
Now, about five years later their relationship is stronger than it has ever been.
Another couple had a similar situation, they got back together and started a non-profit business where they help other couples working on their relationships - they are very succesful in this, and their marriage is an example for others,

So, long story short, it is possible to forgive, although not easy.

If it is a boyfriend/girlfriend situation, separate and move on.
If it has been a long succesful marriage and something happens (7-year itch etc) and both are willing to and want to work on it, stay together and make it work.
    $hit happens, move on.

Maybe after years of separation I could gravitate back to a person but in the short term shes out the door. If you forgive her right off the bat she will never treat you with respect the rest of your life. If you dump her now and get back together years later she is likely only going to invest the time in you if shes commited this time.

I guess it depends... I haven't been in that situation since high school... The biggest thing will be how I find out. If my spouse / GF told me right away, then there would be a chance for forgiveness. If I find out on my own later, doesn't matter if it is 10 years later, I'm gone... My reasoning on that is that if I find out on my own, it means not only was I cheated on, but then lied to for God only knows how long...
