Sounds like you've thoroughly thought this through. Nice job involving the boys in the moving decision too. Some parents don't involve their children in such decisions.

Thanks for opening your home to me and several others and helping (more like you were doing it all) us work on our trucks. The new home looks fantastic too.

Would you like prayer support for your sister?

LOL. Believe me, I did not pay listing price, but yes, still a pretty penny. House is coming fully furnished as well. We won't be keeping some of the furniture, but its nice to have some of the stuff (especially the pool table). One good thing that goes along with California, is California salary. :D

Honestly moving to Tahoe was a goal I was shooting for by age 40. We just made it happen a little earlier.

It's funny though. People are still moving here. Texas, Utah, Nevada and a whole slew of other states I've seen recently in my neck of the woods.
I guess it can't be all that bad...

One man's trash is another man's treasure. It's all perspective.

I still love California, the good thing about where I'm moving is I'll only be 5 minutes away. :)

^ Congrats man! If you ever miss CALI, you can take a quick 5 minute drive and say you were just in CALI and drive back home. Problem solved.

I'm going to be in the same boat. I love SOCAL and there are things about it that no where else can rival. From food to convenience, to lifestyle, and entertainment. However there are things that make Cali hard to love. Cost of living, traffic, people, smog, etc. Did I say you pretty much get nothing in a home these days?

I hear you on places to raise your kids and I feel the same way. I was born and raised in my youths in Portland, OR. and I always go back to visit fam. I lived 24 years in SOCAL and its all I know but I know I'm quite over it.

So congrats to you and sometimes, you have to take a chance in life to better yourself.

Plus, look at that house and look at what you have surrounding you!

    Best of Luck.

P-S. Best to your sister and you're one awesome brother to make it a top reason to move. Hats off to you man. Yes, the hats are curved and NOT flat.

want to buy a 2013 tacoma double cad 4x4 when i retire.. in 15 months... I just retire now i want the Tacoma BUT i want 8 way adjustable seats?
Congrulation on getting out of this state... I have only 14 months to go before retirement I intend to buy the best 2013 tacoma i can get my hands on,and would love to be living on the state line, or Minden, or the area off of the kingsberry grade, even Genoa looks good. i love the area, but My wife hates the area?? she wants us to stay in Redwood city. Expect one problem when you live there? When will you start getting sick of all the snow, and some seasons it last way to long.
When you hit your late 70s or older, the tahoe area is not a good place to grow old. I have seen the house you are buying, and i also took a liking to it and the cove is really nice. good luck and stay warm...

Thanks. I was born in the midwest so I'm well prepared for snow and I'm a long way away from 70 years old.
