I understand how you're trying to get it setup to drive. I like to drive like that sometimes. BUT, I think the performance you want can be achieved with either type of battery. It's all in how soft/stiff your shocks are and what kind of tires you're running (tires being less important in this case) Keep in mind a 7-cell NiMH (you want 7-cell, right?) is going to be 3-4 times heavier than a 2S 7.4v LiPo battery. When I started out I feel like I wasted a lot of money and time on NiMH batts. I noticed a big difference in performance when I started using LiPo batts. Part of it is because it's "better" and "cleaner" power, and part of it is because they're seriously feather-light. AND with your 10 minute mains? you get 4000mah or 5000mah batteries you won't even have to worry about batteries going out on you.

And for $80 you can get 2 batteries and a charger(charger does every kind of battery you could think of for R/C's) from hobbypartz.com.

I hate to sound pushy, or like I'm trying to force this on you, but you're just wasting your money if you buy another NiMH battery. ESPECIALLY if you said you're going lipo later on, anyway. Why not just do it now?

This will be my last post on this matter, but your thinking is way off. Seems to me, a heavier truck would be MORE likely to kick that rock up, vs. a lighter truck which may just skip over it because it's lighter. Second, your point about traction roll, stop and think, a lighter vehicle will be MORE likely to slide through that than a heavier one, ie. less traction, remember. Third, if your not on a drifting course, (what ever the fuck that is) driving a vehicle with the ass end is prolly the slowest way around a course. Fourth, aerodynamics are a very minimum on a off road RC truck, BUT, which would you figure would be easier to affect, a lighter, or a heavier model? I've have NEVER claimed to be any kind of expert or pro, or even good for that matter, though I've been throwing money at it for quite some time. But I'd be a superstar at your track, if the rest think like you.

No don't worry about it, I don't think you are being pushy at all, I do accept the benefits of lipo, I pretty much have to hit the track and tune it to my driving. I will go lipo eventually, but it'll cost me more than $80 since hobbypartz has issues shipping to PR :(, I already have a 7-cell the hobby shop had one in stock, luckily I did not spend as much as you would think ;) and I already have a charger so I haven't spent much going NiMh route for now.

I know that when I ran truggy I did something similar and it worked wonderfully, but obviously its a different beast than 1/10 2wd.

It did not suck, only thing, we did not have a method of watering, again, we were trespassing. Going back to a real practice day tomorrow. I guess we'll what kind of dick heads are here, I feel sure I can find them.

Cool t4daddy, I'm not arguing with you, nor accused you from anything. I have never denied the benefits of lipo, my issue with the other guy is that he kept insisting on the battery benefits itself, when I haven't denied them so it was like arguing with something that I wasn't arguing about, the points I was raising were more towards weight, and what I've observed at the track. Don't worry I won't be drifting the whole track, although it would be fun :)

That's a cool pic. Wished I had took more pics today, but, it was just two of us, and I didn't carry a real camera (those are phone pics) and was keeping a eye out for the law...

I'm all charged/balanced, cleaned, tuned and ready to kick ass tomorrow, (just kidding, new track to me. I've ran exactly two batteries) one in truck, one in buggy. But we should get to water the track at least.

Well concrats, now you'll have no money to blow on RC, haha...

J/K of course.. If it's any of my business, and of course it's not, what does a house cost out there, for what kind of square footage? Just curious.
