The only thing I don't like about the CBI bumper is how flat the front is...

Hey everyone! I'm looking for some input from you guys. I'm currently in Atlanta, but about to move to work in Norfolk. I'm going to rent. I'd prefer a house, but may do the apartment thing instead.

I was thinking VA Beach and commuting into Norfolk. Any suggestions on complexes or areas of VA Beach to check out? Or possibly elsewhere in the Norfolk area? It's just me and my fiancée.

Any input would be GREATLY appreciated!

I would choose VA beach over Norfolk ANY day. VA beach puts a lot more money into it looking nice, if you don't like fighter jet noise, don't live near the oceanfront in VA beach. The commute from VA beach to Norfolk is 15 min with zero traffic, if it is anytime before 9 am, it could be 45-60 min (remember the biggest naval base in the world is in Norfolk) I wouldn't choose Norfolk over VA beach anyday though. Joe Joe is right, there are some shady places in VA beach, as there are everywhere, stay away from green run,
and newtown. By far the worst at the beach. Back to the jet noise, if you don't like it, stay away from Oceana base, move to anywhere just west of rosemont rd. There is zero noise past there. If you need more info, I have been here in the beach for 5 years, and have lived in all the zones. Pm me and ill give you my number, ill be happy to help.

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
The commute sucks. But so does living in Norfolk...

I grew up in Norfolk and moved to Virginia Beach as soon as I turned 18. Thats not to say Norfolk is bad I just hated it. Virginia Beach is a little nicer. The city seems to have better upkeep than Norfolk does. If you move to Virginia Beach since you will be working in Norfolk look for a place close to one of the 264 interstate exits. That will get you to work and home a little faster. Also look for some homes in Chesapeake close to one of the interstate 64 exits. The drive is almost the same maybe an extra mile or 2. Chesapeake is also a nice city. The town center area in both Virginia Beach and Chesapeake can get crowded during rush hours.
