I just think for those years, the Datsun 620 looks tons better. I'm not sure what gets my vote between Toyota 1st gen or Datsun 520.

If we are going straight looks and tossing aside upkeep, I have a small love affair with the 5th gen F150. Dad had a beater when I was young and it's the first vehicle I 'drove'. I sat in the middle seat and dad would have me hold the wheel every so often, or he'd have me switch gears. This is why I own a truck more than anything.

I've been on call this weekend so I'm on a cell phone leash - thankfully the leash gets coverage in Capitol Forest. Found some interesting trails!

Found the work of some idiot. Thanks for making the rest of us look good, douchebag.:mad::mad:

Looks like the perp didn't get far? I didn't go inspect, but the white dot is an abandoned suburban
    [IMG]

Thought I'd try my hand at fixing things... and using my toys
    [IMG]

I got ^^^ that far and found the post wasn't falling in the hole. I had to figure how to keep that up while getting the other end post righted as well. Decided to re-rig.

I took a look at the other end post and found out that there was really no hole to drop that one in; it would need re-digging and probably a new, longer post (the posts were only buried about 1 or 2 feet to begin with ). I had my shovel, but the original hole for that side was on the side of a hill that got torn up from the impact, so I'd probably still be out there digging if I really wanted to get that post up. Instead, I tried to get my rigged post to stand upright on its own so I could accomplish at least one thing.
So, I put things back on the winch and tried pulling a bit more to over-correct, then ease up tension so I could try getting the base in the hole again. Unfortunately, this put too much strain on the gate and made it twist.

Well, the post is now upright. I did my best

Found this nifty hill climb. I forgot my pump, so I couldn't air down, but I gave it a best effort - 4LO and locked. Got about halfway before the tires just started digging and smoking. I found the other entrance and could have gone down, but it was steep enough that I didn't feel like trying it.

Ben, we'll have to try this on another weekend!

Finally put my lift on today!!! So jacked right now!!

    Zero vibes or shakes!

Was tempted to set the front billies at 1.5 instead of .85. But figured since everywhere I read that eibach coils shouldnt be set higher than .85 that I should stay safe.

Rear was a 2" AAL so it still has a bit of rake which I like

One tip... Do not even begin to attempt doing an AAL without at least two c clamps.... It was a pain in the butt to get the centering pin holes to pine up with one. Had to use channel locks with a pipe clamp in place of a second clamp.

Alignment, tires and wheels this week!!

Oh and when I changed out the UCAs to light racing is was a rediculous pain to get the passenger side bolt out. Had to do a little cutting to the fender well, bent the fender well slightly and modified the bolt slightly.

Depending on price I would suggest just cutting them off and putting in new ones from the other direction

Good job Mike! I commend you for trying to fix the mess of some other jackass, it pisses me off when one person can give the whole off-road community a bad name. I'm down to head back up there again in couple weekends.

Hell yeah man, still a lot of snow there. I like how active an organized the gitout crew is. They always seem to have their calendar pretty well lined up. I just joined for the hell of it, and hope to make it to some upcoming events.

I hear that a lot on TW.....not quite sure how I feel about it. Maybe if it were a luxury euro supercar, but a Tacoma....sexy?
