Welp I just did something incredibly stupid.

    Was putting my add-a-leafs in and forgot the shim after I bolted the spring pack back together. Then I cut the goddamn bolt off.

    So, now I need to head out to the hardware store in the morning and buy a new bolt.

    Derp Derp.

    The front looks awesome. The toytec ultimate lift has been great, and easy to install except for the UCA bolt.... Had to do some trimming on the sheet metal to get it out on the passenger side, only had to bend it a little on the driver side. Oh and I killed my dremel as well while cutting some sheet metal out of the way.

    Will post a build thread once I'm done. Next weekend come the 4.88's and locker.

    The instructions say if the shims are included in the kit, use them. So I put them in.

    Yes, total price with core charges was 2100 ish + 155 for the small ARB compressor. That included the new sleeve bushing to deal with vibrations on the drivers side of the front diff.

    look at the last page and read step 16.

    Is it saying that the shim should be bolted in with the spring pack bolt or is it saying that the head of the spring pack bolt should go into the shim?

    The shim goes between the leaf pack and the axle , the centre pin goes through the hole in the shim and into the axle

    To the right is the stock pin. The rod that's in the shim is what I cut off of the new bolt after I put it in the spring pack. And there is the shim with a relief for the pin at the end of the bolt.

    You see the round , non threaded " head " of the stock centre pin ?

    This portion will not be longer with a new pin , the head goes through the shim and is meant to drop into a hole in the axle side .

    The only way to make this end longer is with a collar .

    Is there enough of the head sticking through the pack to put the shim between the leaf pack and axle and still securely seat in the axle ?

    No the head of the new pin will not fit through the hole in the shim, but the threaded shaft fits through perfectly so I'm assuming that's the way that it was supposed to be assembled.

    Are centering pins typically something that can be picked up at an autoparts store or will a hex cap bolt likely do an ok job as a centering pin?

    The head needs to be round and the same size as the centre pin head in order to seat in the axle

    An auto parts place may have them , I got a pair and a set of collars at a local spring shop
