I was thinking the same thing, that or I am just going to close them off permanently since I don't put anything in them.

When I took one of mine out, a little plastic tab broke. Now when it goes back in, it's sort of loose. Any ideas on how to snug it back in there? After I paint them with truck bed liner, I guess I could use epoxy, but it seems kind of permanent. Thoughts?

Like double sided sticky stuff? That's not a bad idea. I thought about some sort of weather seal that you put around doors and windows, but not sure if it would hold tight enough.

Yup, thats the stuff. Found a 1/2 in. Wide roll at O'rileys and a 1 in wide roll at Autozone. The 1/2 in roll worked great for the bed pocket. Been about a month now and if you didn't know I had done it you would never know the difference. Of course in addition to the clips I destroyed, mine had foam tape on it to start with...

i think both setups are sweet
i searched hi and low for the burner write up and couldnt find it
question for the OP, i cram alot of materials into my bed, lumber, tools, trash, metal, and sometimes stone or concrete. i know nothing is indestructable, but is there some way to make a cover for your mod, or do the lights sit pretty flush w/ the bed or stick out?
and can someone put a link to the burners mod

I hope someone can find a write-up for the burner lights...I have a similar brand that is the exact same model just sitting around from when I owned my 1997 cherokee. I really wanna do this mod since I have a Bestop coming in the mail next week!

Long beds have a smaller notch ahead and behind the wheelwells.
Shortbeds have them on top of the wheelwells.

I always wondered what the purpose of those pockets was.
Always figured the openings were for the factory robots to manipulate the bed liner and Toyota figured "WTF, lets fill the hole with a storage option"

It's really useful. Once you through them on and need to use them for the first time you'll think to yourself "why didnolt't I do this earlier.
Try Amazon. I think i saw them there a while back. The burners are so easy to install. They look and install like if they were OEM. all you have to do is drill a hole at the bottom to put the bolt along with some wide washers to make them sturdy. Also I forgot to mention that the bolt that burners supplies is too short. I bought a longer bolt localy, then wire them up. I hid the switch in the storage box.

I just winged it. common sense really. I dont recall finding a right up for burners.
never noticed the notches until now.
