it's a blast dude. the whole idea around the event is teamwork. it's a challenge, not a race. they don't track your time. there are some obstacles that you will have close to an impossible time trying to complete by yourself, hence teamwork. and it's not just your team you are helping or being helped by, it's everybody doing the event. we had to jump into a ice tub, submerge under an over hang and then haul yourself out of it. after 10 seconds in there your buddy literally shuts down and your arms and legs stop to work. we stopped and hauled out close to 10 people who just stopped in the ice cause they couldn't move their arms of legs.

the course was about 13 miles and had close to 20 obstacles. my dad and his buddy followed us around as much of the course as they could to get pics, but in reality they on saw us for about 25% of the course.

it's really not that bad. if you want to do it you should, you'll be amazed what you can accomplish once you get past the mental aspect of it. it's tougher on the mind than it is on the body. granted you do have to be in decent shape and have good physical stamina, but if you go into it with the right mind set and attitude and just try to have fun being miserable... you'll do just fine.

don't wait too long to figure out if you want to do it or not. the price goes up as it gets closer to the event date and it WILL sell out weeks before.

about 4 hours. would have been faster but our bodies were too cold to run. coordination and sensation was all gone haha

Running in the cold is different than jumping into ice water though haha but that sounds awesome, is there anything you don't do? Do you plan on doing any other marathons? I need to get more informed on those

i do lots o' stupid/crazy shit... done it my whole life. played almost every sport in high school, played arena football when the LA Avengers will still around, did military special operations blah blah blah lol.

i'm signed up for a few half marathons later this year and other challenge/ mil-spec style events. might do another full marathon this fall... not sure though. 26.2 miles is a long ways for a big dude like me to run

PM me with any questions, training tips, advice... any of that. i'm happy to help. we can also discuss over a few drinks after the off road show in april
