Adding dash gauges

i own a 2005 tacoma trd double cab 4x4. id like to add an oil pressure gauge and a volt meter gauge. without buying those cheap little add-ons at the parts store, i only found the "pods" addition that go over the steering wheel and cost $150 just for the plastic... does anyone have any suggestions?? i dont want to spend alot; but id like them to look professional!.. thanks guys.

thanks so much for the info.! i looked on the site that you pasted, and it only shows that pod available in black.. my tacoma has light gray A-pillars. not sure what to do,.. it looks like you get rid of the handle, obviously right... and i would have an awesome set-up; but with a black A-pillar. maybe i can call the company to see about that. i also LOVE the Phantom II gauges--they are sick... you know if they offer the same type of dash kit, that will be white during the day, and reverse at night?? looks very cool man!! thanks again!

 

They are also available in light grey its an additional $8 for the grey gauge pod and the color match is pretty close to the factory color. No you keep your handle it just replaces the a-pillar panel and you re-install your oh shit handle on to the new a-pillar gauge pod. Thanks man I've been considering have the dash lighting changed to white and keep all the needles orange to kinda match the phantom II's at night anyways.

 

its not plastic, its metal. and its fitment is better than the A pillar gauge pod. I have the one over the steering wheel and its fine. what ive been told about the a pillar guage made by lotek is that it doesnt fit as well as the stock a pillar trim piece

 

Its not an exact replica of the stock one they can't copy toyotas design down to the last detail. I think it fits pretty good IMO. The only real issue is mounting the handle onto the lotek. It doesnt fit exactly like the factory one does but a little trimming of the base of the handle where it mounts to the a-pillar will correct it. I chose the lotek cause its half the price of the flex pod. But to each there own. Good luck OP on which ever option you choose.

I really appreciate the information but I’m really wanting to do the side pillar but I’m just trying to figure out what size gauges go into the lotek and any information on installing the gauges as far as wiring would be greatly appreciated!!!
