So I swapped out the bull bar for my truck yesterday for a n-fab light bar, added a set of PIAA's and did some more plasti-dipping. I think it really cleaned up the front end.

Much cleaner. I went from liking the bull bar to absolutely hating mine. I think one of the best mods to my truck was REMOVING my bull bar lol.

Ha ha thanks guys... yeah when I bought the truck I wasn't sold on the bar...not something I would buy myself. Hopefully someone local wants it.

    +1

I ALMOST bought a bull bar for my '03 Tundra.
Then I saw someone at work with one on their '01.
Sticks out too far, hangs too low... it just looks like shit out there.
It kills the approach angle if you're into any kind of off-road, so while it helps protect the bumper cover, it restricts where you can go.

Mine was more of a street truck and it would have been completely out of place, so I stuck with just the chrome tube steps.

Now on my '06 Silverado, I went with a "cop style" bullbar/brush guard and it "worked", and gave me a good place to mount my aux lights...

    Look at his "before" picture.
The cross-bars on the grille are chromed.
    That's not factory.

hmm didn't know that. I like the look of the black better so I plasti-dipped it. does it come black with the toyota emblem chrome stock then? I guess I figured it was part of the sport package or something.

Yup, the only thing chrome would be the part of the Yota that can detach, and on some models, the surround, which is a separate piece heat-welded to the backing.

for what? The grille? Might as well keep it now that its black right? Is there anything to gain from trading for a stock one?

Good to know thanks rich. Funny that I was looking through the speedway blue thread thinking that I liked how most of the guys had painted their grill black and thought it looked better
