I heard that the front drivers side shock should be slightly longer than the passenger side to compensate for the added weight on that side. Is this true? I just got mine and they are the same length.

The coils are side specific but I'll be damned if I can tell you how to tell which side is which. Both coils have the same thickness and appear to be the same height (I measured when I replaced mine). The shocks themselves will be identical side to side.

Shocks are the same length and as far as I can tell so are the springs... Just took my stock springs out and measured them, no difference in those either.

I cut some wires here. Added some wires there.
A lot of guys add a 1/4" spacer to the drivers side when they do the swap to offset the way it leans do to the driver and gas tank being on the same side of the vehicle. That's what you must be thinking of. Search "taco lean" and you'll get a million hits.

That's only with aftermarket coils. The 1/4" spacer is not required when reusing stock coils.

Which side is which (green/red)? Is it like boating, green on the passenger's side, red on the driver's side?

We even measured the coils with calipers and they're identical. I don't know how Toyota makes one stiffer :notsure:

Ya I will be reusing my stock springs and am only going to go up 1.75" to level it out.

Are there any concerns when going to 5100s and reusing the stock coils? I am thinking about doing this, and also thinking of setting them at 1.75". Are you going to be able to keep using the factory UCAs?

I just put them in and it worked fine to reuse the stock coils and UCAs. It rides a little stiffer but it is not bad at all
