Such as the three black guys who weren't college students who shot a Mississippi State student in his own dorm?

 

Its a myth that cops take peoples guns for safe keeping. Its his property, the cops didn't see a crime (not saying a crime wasn't committed), so the gun wasn't taken as evidence. If the man was arrested for a crime involving the gun, the gun would be evidence. Until the man is arrested for that crime, that gun is not evidence and will not be taken from him.

 

I'd piss myself laughing if they found him and he shot one of them too.

 

I'm just going to say it, since no one has directly. Does anyone else feel that if this was a white kid that it wouldn't even be on the news?

 

Yes. I feel that way. I don't want to get political so I'll leave it at that.

 

I'm watching the news and one lady just said that the black panther party wants justice and has put a $10,000 bounty on Zimmerman. I want justice too but what if Zimmermen is innocent? How is vigilante action justice?

 

Like a neighborhood watch guy tracking and getting into an altercation with someone without authority?

I agree, it's not justice.

I have a feeling we've got a long way to go in this case. Whatever the outcome of the investigation, people need to calm down and respect the findings, whether Zimmerman is exonerated or not.

Problem is, I don't see that happening. No matter which way it falls, there's going to be allegations of corruption, tampering, etc.

 

obama just rying to get votes, he should stick to the issues at hand.

 

I regret to see that this has become about racial injustice and not a moral injustice. It does not matter if kid was black or white or purple or green. It does not matter than shooter was a latino or asian or caucasian or whater. What matters is that there are states that allow people to carry weapons. Weapons that are allowed by law but not always carried by law abiding citizens.

There is no law in Florida that allows a conceal carry certified individual to engage in vigilante justice. Sheer fact that Zimmerman belongs to neighborhood watch does not entrust him to be a policeman of the community. Heck even citizen patrol officers are not allowed to engage nor carry weapons for that matter. They are supposed to CALL IN and STAND DOWN and wait for authorities to come and handle situation at hand.

I do not know if Zimmerman is guilty but laws were broken. Zimmerman called in a suspect and was told to stand down. He failed to stand down. Some time later a gun shot goes off and 1 person is dead. 2 people that should have gone separate ways even if one was up to no good.

Stand your ground law and castle doctrine allows people to protect themselves and their families against forceful intrusion. Same set of laws allows those people to carry a concealed weapon. Same set of laws allows those people to protect themselves ONLY if they are in unquestionable undeniable guaranteed life or death situation. In other words if you are punched in the face for being an ass you are not allowed to pull your gun and shoot the person in self defense. If you are being robbed at knife point you are to give up your wallet and retreat. (unethical and financially hurtful but that is the "recommendation"). If you are witnessing people raping someone you are REQUIRED to call in the incident and could try and chase off the attackers. ONLY if they pursue you with intent to KILL you... you are allowed to shoot back.

It is very probable that passionate people with guns will say that Zimmerman did nothing wrong and that they would have done the same. Well... with license to carry a gun comes a great responsibility of exercising judgement. Inability to think clearly results in someone getting hurt or killed. In this case it was a teenager.

I live in a community with 5000 homes. 5000 families with 5000+ teenagers. Half of those teenagers dress in hoodies with slack pants walking about with a phone, a water bottle and usually around evening hours just "chilling". I live in a gated community. We have neighborhood watch in places. A situation that is not much different from what happened here in Florida to Trevor. Just a teenager "chilling" who never came home.

 

I never said whether I thought Zimmerman's actions were just or not. I simply refuse to comment about the case because I don't know enough about it. I'm commenting on how racism is around every corner with politics and every day occurances. I hate how if I step on a guys shoe in a hallway on accident with my cowboy boot I'm automatically part of the KKK and a Nazi. I wish everyone would stay out of the case and let the investigators do their job. If the job isn't done, then you can WRITE TO YOUR CONGRESSMAN, or PEACABLY ASSEMBLE. This whole Black Panther influence is making the situation any better. I agree with free speech but some people need to shut up sometimes.

 

He ain't white. He's Hispanic. That means he's Puerto Rican in NY, Cuban in Miami, Mexican in California, but nowhere is he white. Why does every vigilante with a gun have to be white? Or is it because he's protected by a NRA backed law that makes him white? Cuz it damn sure ain't his bi-racial parents. Rihanna ain't white. Miriah Carey ain't white. Lenny Kravitz ain't white. And George fucking Zimmerman ain't white neither. The NRA defending a Hispanic just doesn't have the same ring to it though, does it?

 

Why does everyone forget that zimmerman was blooding with grass stains on his back

I can't believe people aren't talking about how Trayvon was kicked out of school for pot, just that he was black.

 

People hear whay they want and the news uses stories as their personal agendas
