Last week, I got 19.6 MPG, down from prior week's 20.0 MPG. This was with 93 octane. I was liberal with using the accelerator this last week more than I have been in the past.

For this week, I am back to using 87 to see if there is any greater benefit to using 93 vs. 87, which has been about a month long informal study for me. Initial impression is what many using 93 has realized...yes, with 93 you get a few tenths better gas mileage, but the mileage improvement does not offset the added cost of 93.

    stuff and more stuff

It is a cleaner fuel in the long run, not all 87 graded fuel comes the same....

I have ran 93 in my truck for over a year now. When I had my CAI, I would get 14-15mpg. Now with my stock intake with a drop in air filter, I have been getting 16-19mpg.

Not only is the gas mixture different in winter, winter air is notably more dense creating increased wind resistance at higher speeds. In my young and dumber days I used to ride a motorcycle year round without a windshield and the difference at interstate speed was shocking!

I get pretty crappy mpg myself. Around 17 on Avg in town, maybe 19 on highway? But when you lift and add bigger tires, that doesn't help does it:eek:. Oh well 4$ a gal won't stop my daily driving!

Certainly did today... 40mph straight headwind makes the feed-me-ometer fall a little fast.

Stations here switching to summer gas this/next week, woot!
