I think I need a new alternator. Ever since frank raines I've been having issues. My battery light keeps coming on. And drains my battery.

Is this a simple swap out?

I was having the same issue. I just took a pressure washer to it and hit it a bunch with a wrench. It's worked good for the last 3 weeks.

Eric: so is it easy to take it out? I had to pull over on my way back from tahoe cause my radio turned off and my wipers were moving slow (dying battery) so I pulled over and through water on it, banged on it and needed a jump after. I didn't have the time to let it dry.

Robert: this is my third time watering it and banging on it. It may need a thurough cleaning as Eric stated.

well banging on it is not gonna help, taking it out is easy, threre are 2 bolts holding it, one for adjusting tension and one for holding.

Looking to buy a base first gen decently priced. Hoping it was treated well and not beat. No need for fancy mods and lifts and such, just need a basic truck for a daily driver. Stick or auto, could be 4cyl. Doesn't have to have power everything but power somethings would be nice. Regular cab should be okay.

Lemme know if you guys see anything, okay? I have to go to bed now. Thanky!

Changed my plugs at 90k and have a suspicion that they were not changed at 60k. I bought it with 65k on the odometer; I suppose I should have pulled a plug and checkex it out for myself. The swap took about 45 minutes, and after that I swapped out my cats for a URD y-pipe. Kudos to Jay for another killer deal.
