    A small handful of select mods.
    IMO if you are going to try to baja a spacer lift you will have issues Everyday driving and mild off roading should be no issue Your factory spring is designed to work with your factory strut. If you compress the spring with a spacer that in turn will limit your shock compression because ultimately the spring will stop the movement.

    Is my thinking flawed?

    well you just have to take that all into account and plan accordingly. Do do anything stupid. Spacers are cheap for a reason. So maybe you shouldn't run some of the harder trails.

    That is true the distance is increased but the spring is compressed so the travel is reduced. My thinking is ultimately the spring will sort of "bottom" out before the shock does. What we need to find out is the compressed measurement of the stock spring to the stock shock. My thinking is the spring compressed is longer than the shock compressed.

    You still got quite a bit of space to go before the coils bind.

    x3. It's hard to tell how much travel the shock still has due to the cover, but the coil is no where near full compression.
