Would a bad Head Gasket cause a radiator leak?

I've got a leak from my radiator, looks to be from the seam where the plastic tank on top attaches to the metal part of the radiator. The first place I took it to said it was a head gasket, causing pressure which pushed it out of the radiator--is this a real thing? I asked him how the compression was and he didn't answer that, he just repeated that it was the head gasket. So I took it somewhere else to get a second opinion (but I forgot to mention the head gasket comment from the first place) and they said it was just a crappy radiator and was leaking through that seam. Would a bad head gasket cause that kind of leak? I had the compression checked recently and the mechanic told me it was good. The oil is also clean--not milky--and there's only a little white smoke from the tailpipe when the engine's cold.

 

Sounds like a leaking radiator to me. There are other signs that would point to a blown head gasket.

 

You do know that when the cooling system is at working temp that it is under pressure? upto15PSI usually. If you water is not rusty, like mud colored, and you oil is clean I highly doubt it is a head gasket more over a bad seam/seal in the cooling system.
So in my opinion, "NO" its not a head gasket but shop B's diagnosis.
Shop A just wants your money and if you look into your local Better Business Bureau you may find some complaints.

@SoCaltaco65 there is rust in the coolant, but I assumed that was leftover still in the system because my previous radiator had rust in it--when I had the new one installed the mechanic said even after flushing several times there would still be some rust floating around, about 10% of what it was with the bad radiator

@Idaholandho no I didn't think of that at the time, but I had it pressure tested about a month ago at a different place. They didn't find any leaks then and the pressure in the system and the cap was good
