Hey all. I’m looking at possibly selling my truck since I’ve been put into a company truck and I could use the extra money per month. It is a 2006 BSP TRD Off-Road 4x4 Automatic. I purchased the truck in July of 2011 with 40k miles and it currently has right under 50k and is in GREAT condition inside and out. I’m not sure if I’m going to remove all of the aftermarket items or not (double din & tool box, more specifically). The General Grabber AT’s were put on at the dealership, so they have almost 10k on them, and I have been running Mobil1 synthetic since the first oil change after the purchase. Wanted you guys’ advice on what a fair asking price would be, as it sits with everything included. Please check my build thread for everything that’s included and additional pics. (http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/new-members/175281-belated-intro.html) I LOVE this truck and would hate to get rid of it, but I have kind of over-extended myself. Once again, this is a FEELER. Thanks Guys!

I'd start at 18k if you're serious about selling. Be prepared to do a little negotiating though if needed.

dang. less than i was expecting. NADA trade in is $19,550. I know thats not completely accurate, but I thought it would be somewhat close.

That thing is off. That's why you see people listing their 2008s and 09s for 25k+ and wondering why nobody is interested. If you can get a brand new TRD for right at 30k, why spend that little less and get a 4-5 year old truck.

You can list it for those values, but chances are, you'll be sitting on it for awhile. Search through the classifieds here. There is an 06 TRD for sale, has 9x,xxx miles, but it's a double cab, guy is asking under 16k and it's still on the market. I'm in the market for a Tacoma, and within 5 mins I could pull up multiple 05-06s with higher mileage in the 15k ballpark. Yours is def nice, and has low miles, but is that lower miles worth the extra 4 grand, is the question you have to think about. With people freaking out about gas prices, and the sticker price on New Tacomas being what it is, used tacomas aren't racking in what they used to.

If you listed it at 18, you'd get real interest. Could probably pull more $ locally, but an internet sale isn't going to side in your favor.

Yeah, I totally get it. I've just been looking around at dealerships at trucks like mine but with double the mileage and non trd and non 4x4 for a ridiculous amount, so it had me thinking of asking at least 19k for it. I agree with everything you're saying, I've just got to be more realistic I guess. Lol.

doesn't hurt to ask what you'd like for it, and if there is no interest, just keep dropping the price, glws

i think you have 2 really good things goin for your truck, the low mileage and the 4x4, 4x4's hold their price really well, so maybe someone is looking for that exact truck

Yeah, I like to think so too. I'm not quite ready to put it on the market just yet, just getting a feel for it. I REALLLLLLY do not want to get rid of it. Lol.

You'd probably get close to 19k locally, doubtful on here though. Chances are, if they're looking here, they are looking at the entire internet, which is loaded with tacos. But locally to you, there isn't quite so much, so it'll work in your favor.

Yea, the dealership thing is a wonder to me. Seems like people impulse buy at dealers and pay way more then the going private party price. If your truck was at a dealer for 24, I guarantee someone would drive by it, test drive it, and end up "talking them down" to 22 and he'd speed out of there thinking he just stole the truck.

Nammer's right though. List it at 19 and see where it goes. Worst that could happen is people shoot you low offers. I'd probably be one of those people if the truck was white or gray :D

Lol I was that guy when I talked the dealership down 1K! Which I know I got a good deal on it. You really probably can't imagine how good the condition of the truck is without seeing it in person. Its ridiculous. I'm not in a hurry to get rid of it, so thats good. I just know I could really use the money in savings haha. I've had a white truck and a gray truck, so i wanted black. Geez its a beast to keep clean.

sometimes it can be a decent deal, but they usually ask a different price on site, and online, the online one i find it is about 2K cheaper than what they are asking in person

For what it's worth, recently traded my '06 dbl cab 4x4 SR5 with over 100k miles in for 15,500. 2 days later the dealer was listing it for 20,500!!! They have the luxury of waiting for someone willing to pay near that, but still, it was a lot I thought.

Nice truck you have there. Should be worth more than the average with those miles!

Unfortunately, selling my truck is getting closer to becoming a reality. I'll be moving soon and if I don't find a roommate, the truck will have to go bye bye. I am hanging onto it for as long as I can though lol.

Thanks for the input Rupp! 15.5 seems pretty fair to me on trade in.
