For those that bought a new truck from the dealer, did they give you a full tank? If not, how much gas did you drive off the lot with?

For those with the free gas, how did you negotiate that?

"Full Tank of Gas" is usually on the window sticker for most new vehicles.

I got a full tank, didn't discuss it, just part of the deal. Got another fill up when I referred my brother. They told me I get 2 free fill ups if I did the survey when they called. I did and got the first one. Haven't been back for the 2nd partially because it's too far away and partially due to the fact that they were supposed to send me a $100 check for the referral. Needless to say as for right now I don't ever plan on setting foot back on Team Toyota of Lithia Springs again. I can't stand being lied to my face! At least I did get 2 fill ups out of them.

On new vehicles, MOST dealers include a free tank of gas. I am fairly certain it is standard from Toyota at all dealers. It is different for used vehicles. This is where you would have to negotiate for everything. Buying a new Toyota is straight forward. The are not marked up a lot, and everything is fairly standard. Makes it easier (and more fair) for all Toyota dealers.

Got a full tank of gas in my new Taco. Also got a full tank when I bought a used car. I actually just asked a friend who recently got a new car and they said he got a full tank too. I don't think that's something that should be discussed/negotiated.

Used cars are a but more of a pain.. If you got a full tank on a used car, chances are you could have talked them down more on price. I got 10k off a bimmer, only got half a tank of gas.

Was supposed to get a full tank when I bought my '08 Tacoma, but my ex wife brought it home as a surprise and filled the tank before I drove back and signe all the paperwork. The salesman just laughed and gave me a $100 gas card when all was said and done.

Got a full tank when I bought my 2012, was never discussed. I think it is just something the dealerships do...

Full tank. Went by again a couple of weeks later to tell my salesman thank you and how much I love my truck and he took the keys, filled it up and had it washed.

Till this day he will call on holidays or birthday to acknowledge them. Or sometimes just to ask how the truck is treating us.

My new '12 came with a full tank of gas and free car washes for life. No negotiations either part of every deal at the dealership.

Hey, it works. Got treated right by a salesman when I bought a used Corolla, and when it was time to shop again asked for that specific guy. Ended up buying three vehicles from him in just under 2 years!

And he has indeed. He is now considered a friend. :) He's called us up to give us tickets to car shows and even said my son could put his name down for job references. He even called me on his day off when he found out I brought my truck into the service dept for the spring TSB. He thought something bad happened. I guess his co worker saw me there and he told him the truck showed up at service.
