I want to go camping so badly right now!!!!! :goingcrazy:

I was out driving/snowshoeing last weekend (mid-50*, sunny) and all I could think about was what roads may be open and where I could go and set up camp for a night.

I picked up a Sea to Summit Reactor Plus this weekend. Trying to lighten the load by extending the season of my summer bag. Plus adding to the capability of my cold weather bag. So far, so good!

Next, I'll probably look for a 1 or 2 person tent. I need something capable of keeping the extra gear motorcycle camping brings with it and while I have been m/c camping for years, I am working on more remote/self supporting trips--much like backpacking but with a small off-road motorcycle.

I would like to go but my truck is not capable of handling that terrain. If I could ride with one of the MT guys I would go though!
And honestly, if I was in that area I would be spending my time hiking, not driving.

    Can I come visit? :)

It's a short hike on a trail (less than a mile). No chance of falling off till you get to the arch.

Moab has a lot of cool stuff to see.

And there's the Slickrock of course:

    And the river:

As much fun as I've had driving the Slickrock, I think the hikes have been a lot better. Walking out to the various arches and what not, spending the evening out at Delicate Arch was pretty cool too--again with hiking in the dark-bring a flashlight.

Lots to see and do in Moab.

Got my REI dividend yesterday....and a 20% off coupon. I think my Lowa hiking boots are going to cost me about $25. Not a bad deal.

Yep got my 20% off coupons and dividen. Guess I can buy a nice thick and light weight sleeping pad that will actually fit my big body

Question though. I bought a garmin Oregon 400c from a member on here so it's my first gps and I don't know how to use it yet. I was thinking about taking the rei gps class. Your thoughts?
