Buying my first Lift

Well, after hours and hours of reading on this forum, and hours of consulting google. I have decided to get an OME lift with 885's and rear dakar leaf pack. Just want to check quickly with people here as to anything I may be missing before I order it.

OME lift from toytec w/ Rear 3 degree shims,
885 Springs
LR UCA's
Spidertrax 1.25 wheel spacers
NO top plate spacer

anything else I need to get?

 

Sounds like you're good to go. Are you getting the spacers in anticipation of aftermarket wheels and bigger tires? You don't need them for stock wheels & tires.

 

are you only getting the coils? any front or rear shocks? and I guess you are keeping your stock wheels cuz your getting spacers?

 

All sounds good except for the wheel spacers. Why are you needing them?

 

Im getting the entire OME kit springs and shocks was just stating that im getting the 885's because I have a double Cab. I thought I needed the wheel spacers for the stock wheels when lifted. I wanna get aftermarket eventually but currently am undecided and cannot afford them. So with stocks I do or Do not need spacers? Thanks

 

Oh and are there any downsides to spacers?? Ive only heard good things and that they make your stance look bad ass.

 

Unless you are getting bigger tires, spacers are not needed. Spacers /a different offset are needed for wider tires to clear the Upper control arm.

Yes. It increases wear on most components, more so on the wheel bearings then anything.

Sounds like a complete setup

I would try an avoid running spacers in the front if you can, doesn't hurt anything just cause more wear from the added strain on the front end.

 

Another set of lugs to make sure you have tight and they're inaccessible when the wheel is on the vehicle. Also, because they space your wheel out, they put more force on the wheel bearings and can cause them to wear out faster. Lots of people run them and you will find a that people are either pro-wheel spacers or anti-wheel spacers. There's not a lot of middle ground. Personally, I wouldn't want them on my truck.. Can you guess which side I'm on?

 

I could be wrong but the 5mm trim packer should come with the kit...it did for me....I had toytec assemble them for me ...no need for a spring compressor...pop the stock assembly out and new ones in....also if u have them assemble it for u...it comes with all new bushings...worth it

 

What are you doing for the rear OP ?

ya rear Dakars. Should give what did you say like 2 3/4 inches lift in rear? Im really excited to NOT bottom out on the highway with fishing gear in the bed. Very poor payload capacity.

 

Are you eventually going to move up in tire size?
