I'm 17 and 6'1" and 165. Close to the same height and weight as Trayvon give or take a couple of inches and pounds. I'm pretty sure, if I wanted to, I could fight an over weight asthmatic guy several inches shorter than me without any fear. I'm sure Trayvon wasn't too afraid of Zimmerman being that he bragged about how he beat up his bus driver. Just my point of view.

 

yep, the bottom line is that "we just don't know", ..and i agree that we need to let the investigation/system proceed, ..and someone had better put a stop to the mob...

If a cop on the scene told him to stop, then he obviously would have to at that time or face charges.

If a 911 operator tells you to stop what you're doing, over the phone, is that the same thing? I don't think it is.

If that's the way it happened, Zimmerman is guilty as hell. If the kid punched him in the face and ran away, then Zimmerman stopped chasing him, they are even.....not sure about charges for the punch.... But if the kid punched him, and he went down, at that point the kid has to stop throwing punches, or he's going to get shot. That would be justified.

I don't know if it's been said, but the stand your ground law does not apply here. The second he pursued the kid, he gave up his right to claim the stand your ground law. He can still claim self defense.

i hinted at that earlier, ..but yep.. i would say that i think the "pursue" thing is really being overhyped, ..i mean i'd like to think i have the (gasp) right to investigate and question suspicious/mischevious trespassers - if this was truly a gated community, in all likelihood zimmerman never left his community... i'd hate to think property rights have been so eroded that one can't run a trespasser off his own property?...

 

funny, if you distrust the "headline" enough to read what was written/reported, ..you'd see he was tended to "before" being put into the police car... do you think they would have put him in the car w/out cleaning up blood on his head?
