This really bothers me. Obama says if he had a son, his son would look like Trayvon. In what way? Surely he's not talking about facial features, height, build, etc.

What could Obama possibly be referring to?

Could our President have actually gone on national TV and played the race card?

I've never mentioned anything to do with race in any of my hypothetical scenarios, but honestly, it's hard to say race didn't play a part in it. This guy saw an unrecognized, tall, athletic, African-American male in a hoodie walking around in his neighborhood. I'm just saying. I know that sounds bad, but I don't have any bad intentions behind it.

Well, yeah. Would Zimmerman have thought that a white kid in a hooded sweatshirt looked "suspicious"? I agree that race was probably a factor.

My issue is with Obama's response. It seemed well thought out (and it should be, because I am sure he was coached on it before the press conference), but I feel like he made it personal simply because the kid was black. If there is one person in the country who should be avoiding taking sides (or appearing to) based on race, it's the President.

 

Trayvon on was taller and in better shape than Zimmerman.

As I said earlier, I'm around the same height and weight as Trayvon and I am 17. We 17 year olds tend to think we are invincible and such. I know Zimmerman isn't really that intimidating to me. Pretty sure I could take him down with a punch.

And Zimmerman was walking down the sidewalk behind him. Just because a dispatcher told him we don't need you to do that doesn't mean he can't. He's not legally obligated to stop walking down the sidewalk. What country did you grow up in that sidewalks are privileged like that?

Now, is it impossible that this kid would see he's being followed and turn around and be like "What the fuck is your problem?" and initiate contact? Not to me. I can walk down ANY side walk in America if I want. No matter who tells me what on the phone. And if the person in front of me has a problem with me walking down that sidewalk, fuck him.

Did anyone else read about Martin's girlfriends statement? She claimed that she was on the phone with him and he told her that someone was following him. She said she hear a guy ask Martin something to the effect of "what are you doing" and Martin responded "you got a problem"...sounds like him trying to be a tough guy...then she heard a noise that sounded like someone falling to the ground and then the line went dead. I think that this can also support the other witnesses that said Zimmerman was on the ground.

 

I dont know why people sag their pants...it literally means you're asking for ass sex.

 

I thought zimmerman was 29? Cant a 29 year old defend themself agaisnt a skinny wannabe gangster.
