    12 Access Cab mag grey
    TRD Off Road
All Weather Flooring (carpet delete option)
    V6 Tow Package
    6 Speed
(plus whatever the $300 radio is)

29900, plus 130 for tags: $30030 out the door.
We have no sales tax, and they're going to eat their bullshit "processing" fee.

They're still making a decent profit ($1625 after WFR and holdback according to my research) and I'm pleased with the pricing.

I just got a trd sport access cab. 30,050 after tax, title etc.

Fyi. It doesn't matter what we are paying. It matters what people in your area are paying. Go to Edmunds and there is a tool to show you avg price paid in your zip. You should know this before going to the dealer and use it to negotiate.

It's all regional. If things are not moving as good in your area, you can negotiate more aggressively. Also look up avg days on lot. This will tell you how desperate a dealer is. However, your options for negotiating the more popular trd packages will usually not be good as these go fast.

Also, just a tip for those who trade in or trade up when purchasing.

I have a bought a good numbers of vehicles in my life and have taken the advice of others more seasoned than me when it comes to negotiations.

The trade-In value is usually where a dealer has the most room to get the upper hand on you. Understand that the dealers actually make more profit on used car sales than new.

The first thing they are probably going to ask you is, are you going to trade in your vehicle?

Trust me-- Say no to this question, regardless of whether or not you are going to trade in. The reason is that once they know you are going to trade, they start thinking about how they can make money on the trade-in. They are not thinking about how to get the highest sales value on the new vehicle sale because they really do not make a large profit there. All their attention is focused on covertly appraising your real vehicle value and how much they can make off it. The used car market now is very profitable because of the economy and used car prices are at record highs. The dealer will compensate by enticing you with a sweet deal on the new vehicle. But once you accept the offer and they shake your hand, they will try to wrangle you around on the trade-in value and come out way ahead.

Also, you cannot expect them to not make a profit, so your efforts to get an upper hand will only go so far. It is unrealistic to expect that you will score a deal where the dealer does not make a profit on the sale and trade-in. That's how they make a living and stay in business. The only way they will take a loss is if they have a prior year(s) vehicles sitting on the lot and they cannot unload it and have to get rid of it before tax year ends so they can report it as a loss. That is really one of the very few scenarios where a dealer will willingly take a hit and come out on the bottom.

When they know you are not trading in, they will then have to do what they can to get the sale, which means offering you a better negotiating price. Once you get a price that you feel is reasonable based on what people in your area are paying and what dealer invoice markup is, take the figures home and come back the next day. Tell them you will take the offer but decided you do want to trade in. Then you negotiate on the used value. Know your Kelly Blue Book value and appraise any mods you have on the vehicle. Tell them your price and you won't go lower. You can't be unrealistic about it but if you stand your ground, they will usually take it. They already spent a lot of time with you and at that point, a modest sale is better than no sale if they really think you are going to walk. Again, however, you have to give them at least a minimal profit for it to be worth their while. In the end, negotiating sales and trade-in is not so much about negotiating the price you pay, but negotiating how much profit you are giving to the dealer. You have to give them something in order for them to work with you. Dealers are not chairities and it is unrealistic to go overboard with demands.

If you just show up at the dealer today and say you want that Nice Red TRD Offroad EXT cab on the lot and want to trade in your vehicle, you are not going to get the best deal you can.

I just stopped by the dealership yesterday and went fishing. They gave me an appraisal of 13k(originally) for my 07 access, off-road 2wd with all the bells and whistles with 48k miles...after talking about it they said they could maybe give me 15k...they didn't have what i wanted in stock(spruce access off-road 4wd) so they quoted me a mag grey for 32kish out the door.

a friend paid 26k for her 09 double cab sport 2wd mag grey so I was rather disappointed.

I was expecting a lower trade value, but 13k is an insult.

its good to do the homework before you go. I'll probably deal with someone else and look for a private sale

Will do. I finally got to see the truck yesterday in the service shop. Still had the bugs on it from transport. They have all of the accessories installed and leather goes in tomorrow. Will be picking her up either tomorrow night or Sat morning and they're swapping my BFG All Terrain TKOs from my current ride (less than 4K on them) onto the new rig so I don't have to deal with the Rugged Trails for another 40K. Can't wait!

They probably did. Dealerships will often reduce the selling price on the paperwork to accomplish the same thing as paying the sales tax (or part of) which is the same thing from a buyer's perspective. Semantics aside, your "Fail" comment is unecessarily rude.

I got a 2012 double cab TRD sport package. Silver streak Mica, Tow package, sat. radio(no entune). MSRP was 31,495. I got it for 26,995. Plus all applicable fees. I did all my work online before I ever went to the dealer. Checked several states and then had 2 dealers trying to beat each others price until 1 told me there was no way he could come within 2k of the price I got
