Just tint and ppl for now.
Whatever you don't have, I do. Def best to do it at your joint.

I have a wedding on the 14th of april. that Sunday may be good but I could potentially be sleeping most the time and hangover. The night before could work too. What other weekends do you have?

I'll work around your schedule. Most of the time I'm just building grills on the weekends anyway.
Now that I've got the rear bumper situation finished, once the lift is on I'm pretty much sticking to little mods...
Except for a rear locker :anonymous:

Yea I'm available depending when you decide to do it. If Chris takes one side of the truck and I take the other and Craig and anyone else helps, there's no reason it shouldn't be done in a couple hours.

and Craig... about that rear locker.. if you aren't in a rush, you should wait and see what the outcome of my lemon law case is. If they take back my truck I'll have to do a quick swap out of everything I have in it and will need stock stuff.

and Chris's.... about the bike ride. Just let me know when you are thinking about riding and ill try to make it work.

I'm in no big rush. Just would like it before late July/early August.
I'd be glad to swap if the big nig goes away.:(
Rather not see that happen though.

I'd rather not see it happen either, but apparently thats what usually happens with lemon law cases.

    How about next saturday?

Locker is an easy install. Let's do it! Boyd is itching for one too.
Would you get another taco if they took that one back?

I will let you know about the mt bike trip.

That's what I'm desperately trying to figure out..

I have 2 weeks till the mechanic inspects my truck. I already removed the tranny and t case skids, but I'm wondering about putting the stock ifs skid and stock bumper back on too. I can also remove the diff skid and could pull off the sliders. Then I basically just have a lift, tires, a locker, and a snorkel.

I wish I knew what pictures Toyota may or may not have.. I would even swap fenders if it was worth it.

I'm playing around with the idea of completely parting it out and putting it completely back to stock, then tell them I want a new vehicle. Maybe a new big nig, but not wheel it. I could pick up a 2000ish 4runner for around 8 grand and use that for wheeling instead of fucking with a $30,000 truck.

Even if I keep my truck and get a settlement, then I have to deal with the fj t case swap, which right now I'm unsure if it's worth dealing with all that.

I really don't know what I want.. If any one has any opinions please chime in.

Man I wish I had some helpful insight. If it were me, I would remove the bumper(you were looking to repaint anyhow) and sliders. They are easy enough to put back on. They already know you have the snorkel so, I would leave that on. Maybe take Take the compressor for the locker out. Leave the locker In as they have no idea it Is there.

I hope this works out for you. Seems stressful.

Yea I figured stock bumper and no sliders should help it look less aggressive. Hadn't thought about the compressor.. Although then I'd still have a bunch of wires exposed. Seems like the mechanic isnt out to screw me, just has to see if the truck has been submerged. Seems like an extremely thorough cleaning might be my best bet.

It is stressful because I have no idea what will happen, how long it will take, or what my options will be.

Also doesn't help that I've been working at a Toyota dealership for the last 3 days so I'm surrounded by fjs, 4runners, and tacomas.

I'm wondering about maybe a certified pre owned dc lb sr5 to save some money from the trd packages, and then like a 3rd gen 4 runner for wheeling. But I really don't know what my options will be so I guess I need to calm down and not do anything drastic until the case is finalized.

Just spoke with Pap. We'll be doing the lift install at my place on Sat. 4/7/12 about 11am.
Rain/Shine it does not matter... I can always nose or tail into the garage if need be.
If enough of you want to come I guess I'll have to get a keg for the beermeister ...

Won't be able to make it on the 7th. I have to bring my motorcycle in for service at 11 and wait for it for around 3 hours.

    Thanks Craig!

Yea Joel.. What a headache. The biggest pita is the legal process. I submitted the claim in September and I'll be lucky if it goes to court by summertime.

If the truck was like 10 years old and paid off I could understand the 4x4 going bad and I'd fix it, but a 2010 with 40k miles and I still owe $17k is bullshit

yea id be in the same boat as you. im a 2010 with 40k on the clock and would be raising hell if i was having problems like that. after working at a dealership for 5 years...there are most definitely some cars/trucks that just need to be taken back and set on fire and the customers given a new one. its such an inconvenience having to take time out of your day to take it in when you spend mad cash on it buying it new.

Yep. It's my first brand new vehicle. Spent a year deciding what to get and I thought a toyota Tacoma would be the most durable, well built truck I could get.

Clearly it didn't work out that way..
