I've had my "new" 09 Tacoma for a couple weeks now, and I couldn't take the ugly yellow warning stick in the bed near the tailgate. It said something in a few different languages about the camera plug and removing the tailgate, blah blah. So I spent 15 - 20 minutes scraping it off with a razor and cleaning the goo off with paint thinner.

Then I realized I really hate the ones on the visors inside the truck. The UGLY lawyer-ized ones that tell you not to roll over the truck and other such crap. So the question is, has anyone successfully removed these stupid things? They look totally ridiculous. I guess they could be covered, but removal would be best I think.

    Any thoughts?

I get the tailgate one, but I would leave the visors ones for future resale purposes.

I'm 6'1" and found the visor ones distracting when the visor was down. I bought some uncut vinyl decal sheets the same color as the interior, and cut out squares to cover them. That way I can take the decals off when I sell the truck. I can take pictures if folks want them.

I know what you mean. I hate the retard stickers.

There are a bunch of old posts about doing just this. Most used heat to get the sticker off then used a goo gone for the adhesive.

Just search visor sticker or something like that.

I masked off the visor and spray painted the warning labels with a primer gray.

Although you can tell the difference between the visor material and the label area, it works for me.

I'm not a fan of the visor warnings either, but thanks to someone bringing a lawsuit due to the info only being in the owners manual, well, there you have it.

The vinyl sticker would be cool. I could see some TRD or Toyota printed versions being a cool way to cover them. As long as the vinyl will remain secure in the heated interior of a car of course. Maybe sockmonkey has a tested solution in that regard?

I guess those stickers look better than I thought they would. I think I may try to take them off, lawyers-be-damned. I did some reading on some other forums and they mention steaming them off with an iron over a towel. They just look so stupid and ugly.

    That's a great idea.

Some of the guys on Tundrasolutions and Dieselplace were successfully getting them off of the visors, but it's a slow and tedious process with a 50% chance of fuxoring your fabric.
About 25% looked good, about 25% you could tell where it was because it pulled the texture in the visor. The rest were seriously messed up.
