    Trucks down, apparently the horn wire from the cab thru the firewall was the issue, they also found a number of wires from the ECU to the engine bay that werent installed correctly that had the potential of shorting out on the firewall, needless to say I had them understand its going to be fixed correctly once!

    So, it wasn't the sand's fault, afterall...
    Good that you know why it happened!

    Most of my four wheeling is in sand... the beaches south of San Felipe, dry washes (arroyos), and some dunes... and I have never had tranny problems driving them.

    @- Socaltaco. That really sucks. Hopefully it's repaired right the first time. Could have been serious of wires shorted out and caught on fire. No bueno

    Its 1 year as of last thursday, Wed last I had to use the horn, once I pulled into work hitting the alarm button and no horns. So I did a bit of troubleshoting and found everything upto the fuse panel good, had no chance to test from the fuse panel back into the cab. Toyota did and found a shorted wire that was hanging out of the harness that had worn against the firewall and shorting.

    My service advisor said it was not installed correctly from the factory( Assmebly line). The other wires were for VSC sensor array to ECU, Lights and Fuel array to ECU. So maybe not a fire but a critical systems failure that would have shut down the truck. bad thing is were the wife and I explore the truck would have been extremely difficult to recover.

    WOOOT, just got the truck back, inspection netted a new harness and fuse box. Looks clean like nothing ever happened.

    On a side note, did you guys get a Metal Mix bottle for welding? I'll ask in the mod thread too.

    Anyone think I should even attempt to sell this stuff? or just give it away? I got 05 sr5 rear shocks, stock coils, and a stock stereo single disc. Oh I got 2 front toyota middle emblems out of stock grills too.
