...well, i've got an old 37" Aquos LCD (was my first flat panel :D) i'm thinking about putting up on my wall in bedroom... i'd like something that will articulate some (pivot, tilt), but also be low profile when retracted... i also like stuff that's built "sturdy" ;)

..so far i've been looking at:
    • Peerless SP850-UNLP
    • Peerless SA763PU
    • Arrowmounts (have to look up the p/n again..)
    • MountIt (skeptical at low cost of these)
    • Sanus VMF308-B1
    • Sanus VLF311-B1
Peerless are $$$, but these appear to be real good quality... The sanus, ...one thing that concerns me is some negative reviews due to some "play" in the bushings...

    ...any opinions, experiences?

Check out monoprice.com they're dirt cheap and built pretty solid. That's where I got mine for my 55". Tilts and swivels way off the wall.

monoprice.com for the win. Got mine from there. Holding up my 42" plasma. Been up for 3 years now. Sturdy as a rock.

I bought a slim mount for the 32" that I put in my workout room from monoprice. Works excellent.

Yeah, don't. If you do decide to wall mount that TV I would do some severe extra reinforcement at the mounting points. I bought a 60" LG for my in laws and that thing is a monster.

I too have an Aquos. Most mounts that weren't $$$$ required a special bracket to adapt to the stupid mounting pattern Sharp uses (unless they changed it, my tv is 3 years old).

    I bought this one http://www.mountsandmore.com/Level-...t-Screen-TVs-10-40-Screens-AIMOA-LVM1006.html

It adjusts to fit basically any mounting pattern, fully articulates, and is sturdy as hell. Not to mention cheap. I've had it installed for a year now with no problems. Unless I find something better/cheaper, my next tv will have one as well

Nice setup for the wiring to keep it hidden. All that appears to be missing is an AC power outlet?

yep, i ordered a set of midlite outlets from a web vendor (one is a recessed receptacle and the other is a recessed plug and a 14 ga. extension cord to hook it to a UPS or surge protector), ..didn't get here in time for the weekend, so i'll have to hook them up sometime this week.. i did hang the tv up, but i'll have to take it back down to do that... progress,.. albeit, slowly :D

Looks good. You might need 90 degree connectors to mount the TV flush. I had to get some for a Monoprice mount that I used to mount a 32" TV in my workout room. The mount I used looks really similar to the one in the picture.

thanks - i'll post a pic when i get everything done..

this mount isn't completely flush to the wall (the h/w attached to the back of the tv forms the attachment and tilt apparatus, sets it off from the wall a little bit, ..though it is close. i'm just using the "system cable" that came w/ the tv (this is an older aquos tv, where the av inputs are in a separate av box w/ a dvi and audio cable is all that runs up to the tv), fortunately the angle at which the interconnects go into the panel is vertical rather than horizontal..

midlite recessed receptacle (left)... had to trim the cover plate (right) because the system cable had ferrite cores on it that were a tad too big :(

midlite recessed plug (left) - one end of extension cord connects to here and the other end to your surge protector..

thanks for the compliments! i'm happy w/ how it turned out... i do have a bit of electrical noise on the audio (it's an unsheilded cable running up the wall - turns out there was a run of NM electrical cable running horizontal in the wall from outlet-to-outlet in the room), but also there is the vertical run of NM electical i ran alongside the a/v cables.. maybe i should've put more horizontal separation between a/v and power runs? rookie mistake?..
