After reading some, please let me know if I understand correctly: aftermarket rims are wider than stock, so they will stick out 1" or 2", depending on the width of the rim (17x8 or 17x9). Also, stock has 5.5" backspace, and aftermakrt has 4.5" backspace, adding another inch.

So I got 17x8, they would stick out about 2" more than stock, and with 17x9, it would be 3"?

Does anyone run 265 with 17x9 rims, or should I stick with 17x8?

    Thanks in advance

Hey there. I've noticed that you are rocking the Pro Comp 7089 16x8. I've had my heart set on these wheels for awhile and now that it's time to pull the trigger I'm a little reluctant because of all the talk about them not fitting our trucks. Even pro comp themselves have told me they don't work. Obviously they do. Did you have to do any mods to make these wheels fit? I don't want to run spacers. My truck is a 2005 SR5 4x4. Fully stock and I am going to run 265/75/16. I just need a little reassurance as I will be ordering them from 4WParts(they also said they won't work) and have to pick them up in the States(I'm in Canada)so returning them would be a pain. Your opinion would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Did you ever get your question answered? I'd like to run a similar setup on mine.

I ended up getting them and have had them on for almost two weeks. They fit. It's kind of tight but they fit none the less. No Problems. I wrapped them in Pro Comp Xtreme AT 265/75/16. They took a ton of weights to balance and there were still no clearance issues. I did have to remove the mud flaps and I still have a minor rub on the back inside part of the fender when cranked in certain situations. Thinking of just leveling out with some Bilstein 5100's, otherwise I would have to do a little trim. Also, one of the center caps didn't fit so I'm just running them on the back until I get the replacement from 4WheelParts. Stoked. Rig looks sick and rides great.:headbang:

    or

I just got the 17x8 7089-7883, 6 on 5.5, 4.5" backspace. The tires I picked ate BF Goodrich All Terrain KO, 265/70/17 load range C. Great tire, a lot quieter than I expected. The tires stick out further than I expected, but I am ok with the way it looks. The tires are just rubbing a little on the mud flaps, going to have to do a little trimming. In the pic it shows the tire just rubbing the mud flap.

    Really happy with these wheels.

I'm going to pull the trigger and get the Procomp 7089 in 16x8" on my Tacoma Sport. I like the beefier look on the tires on a 16 inch wheel. Going to run Wrangler Duratrac 265/75/16's. Good times!

Have a question, Im about to invest on those same wheels (Pro Comp 7089) and I want to make sure I get the right size. I drive a 2011 tacoma sport and I want to switch out my 17" wheels for 16's. and want to compare the specs with your set up before I pull the trigger. Pro Comp 7089 Series *wheel size: 16x8 *bolt pattern: 6 on 5.5 *backspace: 4.5 *maxx load 2200 * off set: 0 Does this sound right? Is this what you have on your tacoma? Did you have to add spacers? Any issues with those wheels? Im looking at getting 265/75/16 Wrangler Duratracs. Thanks for you help!

You need spacers to clear the calipers? Looking at this same setup
