    Nope
Cascade. Ordered mine through Metro. Salesman did say they would swap my order if I wanted to change options, color, etc, and they could find one on a lot, but once I made my mind up that was it. So it's waiting time unless they find a NBM TRD sport somewhere. Just a pisser cuz the 500 rebate would have been nice. Sales guy did say that any rebate in effect when I pick up the vehicle would be mine, but I doubt there will be one in May as it's not the end of the quarter/year.

BTW, I think you got a pretty good price. Good luck with it.

$28950 for my DCLB TRD Sport. bought March 9. Sales tax was $0 because I traded in a 2011 Silverado worth a little more than that. Yeah I lost a little money on the trade in but I think I have a much nicer truck now and I hope my gas mileage will be at least a little better (the Silverado was a 25000HD getting around 10mpg:eek:). Very happy with the Taco so far.

    regards,
    Chris

So, I am not concerned with what you "know-it-alls" believe to be true. Would you like to see my bill of sale. The msrp was 31,495. I payed 26,995. I live outside of Baltimore in the Northeast. Bought from a large buying group and I am quite happy with the deal I got. If you would like the dealership name it is russel toyota. Talk to Cory and be sure to tell him I sent you. Never said anything about 1.9 for 72 months. Actually, not beaing a previous toyota owner I got 2.49 for 60 months. And free gas for life would be nice but not gonna happen. If you all want to continue to pay too much for your trucks go ahead. If you ask a question then you may want to accept the answers you get.

Write Toyota. I got a Shareathon certificate in December that was worth $1,000 cash back. Put my deposit on my truck down on Dec. 16th. It just showed up this past Tuesday. I had written Toyota and told them that it seemed wrong that I would be penalized (they only have $500 rebates for Tacomas now) because they took so long getting my truck made. Of course I worded if nicely and they responded quickly to me and the dealer giving them instructions to honor my $1,000 rebate.

Chefalink is telling the truth, just not TTL included.

I ordered my truck from the same auto group, R&H Toyota, and they have low prices.

That is true, we always pay a little more in Canada. However, everything is relative and the resale / trade-in value is also higher so you get most of the difference back anyway. Tacomas hold their value so well here that it's hardly worth buying one that's only a few years old vs. new.

Where I live, Tacomas are everywhere and I have never talked to an owner that wasn't very happy with theirs. No wonder Toyota doesn't make any huge changes to it every year like other manufacturers do, the Tacoma is definitely a winner the way it is.

I have always wondered if the "invoice" price and "dealer cost" quotes you see online through pricing services, etc arent artificial numbers put out there by the manufacturers. For many years now these services have been out there, and I would imagine the pricing structures have been modified to make even more room for dealers to still profit even at the dealer cost numbers. I know they get holdbacks and other forms of funds to still make it profitable, but I had 3 dealers offer me the dealer cost according to edmunds and truecar. Actually my best offer was $200 below cost, and obviously they are still making at LEAST a few hundred in profit at that number

imo, the best deals are through internet sales departments, especially for those of us that hate the haggling process. Most dealers will NOT have the exact truck you are looking for in stock, so pick the one you want online and wait a few weeks. No big deal for most people if you plan ahead.
Obviously some regions of the country have more competitive pricing.

You are right about internet deals. Email every dealer in your area to get quotes, tell them by email you have better quotes to get them bidding for your business, then take the best offer. You can find out if they have what you are looking for this way too. Did my deal this way, and was way better. One, you don't have to deal with a salesman (hate this more than anything), two, you know if they have what you want. Simply, clarify the quote walk in with the email and tell them you are here to pay that price for that truck. They didn't even push all the bullshit fabric protection, rust protection on me. Made it so easy to do the deal and get out of there. Got way better quotes this way, compared to actually going into a dealer or phoning them.

Yeah, I wasn't crazy about the color.(white) I wanted either blue or green but everytime I tried to walk they would drop the price. Plus it was the last day of the month.

Actually, being the last day of the month has absolutely nothing to do with getting a good deal. There is nothing at all special about the last day of a month to a sales rep. They don't get compensated by how many vehicles they sell in a calender month(or day, week or year.) They get compsensated for each new vehicle they sell and they also get compensated based on how much profit they make for the dealer. It doesn't matter if it is April 1st or 30th. The compensation is the same.

In fact, one of the biggest myths of new car buying is that there is a special time of the day, month, or year when you stand a better chance of getting a better deal on a new vehicle. There is no such formula. Deals and rebates are had when inventory is up and the dealer needs to move vehicles but is ahving trouble doing so. When this condition happens cannot be predicted nor is it the same from one dealer to the next.

If you want to score a better chance of negotiating down, check avg days on lot for a model and dealer and shop the dealers who are slow. This info can be had online. Just walking in on the last day of the month is not going to do anything to help you unless their sales are already slow and you just happened on it by accident. However, your chances of finding a dealer who has trouble moving well-equiped Tacomas is very slim--often next to nill in many areas.
