    Well the weather heres started warming up to the 70's now. The lake is risin, and the fish are bitin! I've stayed at the lake all weekend. We've literally only took trips home to eat, sleep, shower, and clean the fish n put em in the freezer. In the last 48 hours we caught over 70 crappie, and its not even spawn season yet. Lord I cant wait. By the end of this month its gonna be NONSTOP! Heres a pic from one of the trips to the lake. We'll take more throughout the week:D. Just thought i'd share. anybody else doin good with the crappie right now?

    Theres plenty here. People have been takin home hundreds at a time since my papaw was young. Still huge ones caught regularly. I dont support takin that many home. I never take more than my limit.

    Yeah I went up for a little bit but strep throat made me quit early. Got 4 keepers and 2 shellcrackers in about 2 1/2 hours. We had a lot of rain and a big cold front that slowed everything up. Better than nothin i reckon!

    Your speakin my language. I'll tell ya another fish we just started eatin. Yellow bass. It taste just like if not better than crappie. It looks just like a stripe or white bass just has a distinct yellow tint on its belly that fades up the sides. Catch em accidentally when crappie fishin n we never throw em back. no length or creel limit.

    Nice. We went out to a creek out here saturday and caught 3 rainbows. None had any size to them though. I'll probably go after them again this saturday after the morning turkey hunt!

    I'm not entirely sure. When we drive up to bristol to watch the NHRA its about 2 hours... I'm located in blount county,tn (smoky mountains). We fish in the Cherokee national forest.

    I have never fished for crappie but would like to. Hell, I wouldn't know how to clean or fillet them either.

    Around here we stream fish for trout (season opens April 18th) and lake fish for Bass and Pike. I usually only keep the trout.

    In June, I head down to Rockport, TX (near Corpus Christie) and fish for Redfish and Sea Trout. They are very tasty and I really look forward to that trip.

    Who knows. Next time I'm in bristol I'll be on the lookout for it. If it connects tn and va in anyways it will be through bristol!

    Nothin to fillet them. Electric knives make it easier.Start behind the gill plate. Get to the backbone, turn knife towards tail.Cut to tail without cutting slab of meat completely off. Flip meat away from fish, cut in between the skin and meat. Walla!

    We stream fish here to. The rainbow trout are stocked, but fun to catch anyways. Some people look down on it but I could care less. Its relaxin being in the middle of the mountains on a crystal clear creek catchin fish.
